I bought this car as my very first car that I've taken a loan out on. I thought it would be perfect.
Since I've had it it has made grinding sounds from the front when I've accelerated or coasted. I brought it in the first time and they had it for 41 days. They told me the problem was fixed-it wasn't. Brought it in for 3 more days, they told me to take it home until they could figure out what was wrong with it. Now, it's in again after they thought they knew. They've had it for two weeks, they didn't know how to fix it and now they're replacing the entire transmission.
I do not want this car anymore. I'm driving a rental 2013 Fiesta and it makes the same noises, my friend who bought this car 3 months after me does as well. The transmissions suck on these things.
I HATE FORD....read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Agile, well-made, good fuel economy, large trunk in sedan
- Cons
- small back seat, SYNC a bit annoying

This little car has been a pleasant surprise, adequately quick and very nimble. Build quality and materials are very nice. Dual-clutch 6-speed feels different than a normal auto until you get used to it (paddle shifters would be nice). Only trips to dealer have been for SYNC questions. Very nice car....read morehide

I bought this in nov. of 12. I have 4000mi. on it now, with no problems. This is not a race car but it has enough power to be somewhat fun. I have the powershift auto and love it. shifts great and fast. Handling is fun and responsive. you can go out and beat the hell out of it and still get good mpg. of about 30. drive it with it intent to get mileage and you will get over 40mpg.also this is the first auto that i have owned that will redline the engine. sounds great on the inside of car....read morehide

Had a 2011 that at cruise control on 74 mph hit a deer .,merely a scratch with all airbags deployed car totaled. Bought second one right away. Transmission went out within first month with 32 thousand miles on it .Have been stranded in Ca. since Dec 11th while dealership took 3 weeks to diagnose problem. New tranny ordered and still waiting with zero help from several calls to ford consumer help line. No transmissions available because of a large number going bad. Help desk never once did the regional Ford rep follow protocol and get back to us. We are now on 6th week away from home and no end in sight with no help from Ford ....read morehide

I bought my first car 2 weeks ago and I choose ford fiesta hatchback.. Automatic 1.4, I was so amazed and happy with the service my agent provided me.. However after 2 weeks my car broke! I had it towed. The car won't start after 5 mins it was parked. I had to push it to move it on the side walk. I was so frustrated and devastated. Ford checked it and said it was the battery why it won't start. They replaced the battery. After a day, drove it again from a short distance. I stopped and parked it again, after a hour I went back in, it won't start again. I had it towed the second time. This made me mad and asking for a replacement / refund since I just bought this 2 weeks ago and still within warranty period. Until now never heard from them...Ford must be manufacturing defective cars! Choose HONDA! Instead..Ford is not Worth the money and reliability.Looks can be deceiving!...read morehide

- 50MPG ave. hwy/city, quiet, great mid speed handling
- Cons
- None

The vehicle can be driven two ways, Econo mode 10 to 15 mph under posted speed limit. Or keep up with everyone else usually 5 to 10 over posted. Worst case economy is 33city/42hwy. Best case is 42city/52 hwy. Standard xmssion allows you to closely monitor engine speed vs. load for max fuel economy. Scangage on the OBD2 port is next for instantaneous fuel readout....read morehide

- Pros

- Cons

I have a Tuxedo Black Metallic 2013 Titanium w/ black leather & white piping. Beyond the standards I have a moonroof, automatic transmission, and the Black Sport Package which removes all chrome trim on the exterior and replaces it with black matte; this includes the headlights (a striking effect). There's also a larger rear hatch spoiler. The transmission takes some getting used to. I still giggle at its behavior. It feels like a manual transmission right down to the rolling backwards on a hill when one lifts their foot from the brake. My favorite thing is the suspension; it defines both fun and tossible. Otherwise it's the little things: electro chromatic rearview mirror, phone battery & reception indicators, Bluetooth, good stereo system, etc. The leather seats are supple and supportive. I'm six feet tall and find the front seat a really nice place to be. Heated seats are also a nice surprise in this segment of car.
I wish there were a few more inches of leg room in the rear. It's Pretty cramped. SYNC works 60% of the time (it's no SIRI either - one has to know EXACTLY what to say to make it work. I'm still learning commands and have a lot more to go and this is after a lesson from the dealer and six weeks of use). Hopefully I'm to blame for many of SYNC's mishaps but the technology is inherently limited by Microsoft's engineering of voice recognition.
Overall this is a fantastic car and I'm very pleased with it to date. We'll see how I feel after having it for a year or two but I can only imagine I'll continue to enjoy it. I LOVE this car....read morehide6 out of 6 people found this review helpful.

I have the 2011 SES Hatchback Fiesta, which is essentially the same car as the 2013 Titanium Hatch. I purchased my 2011 in March of 2011, and have put just over 25,000 miles on the car. In combined highway city driving around Seattle, I average about 37mpg. Yesterday, I took a trip from Seattle to Portland Oregon, and on that trip I averaged 48.1 mpg ! I kept the car at 60-65mph, and that average included stopping several times, and a little bit of stop and go traffic along the way. The only troubles I've experienced have been some very minor issues with the door sensors not working correctly, and saying that the doors were open when they weren't. The local dealer here took care of that, and I've had no problems since. Overall, the car is very quiet for a subcompact, and even though I'm just over 6 feet tall, I find the interior very roomy for the front seat passengers, but the backseats require that the front passengers and driver move their seats up a few inches, which makes it a tad bit cramped. If you're primarily using this as a commuter car, this is a non issue. The electronics including Sync with bluetooth and built in speakerphone are great, and I love being able to plug in a USB drive with music on it, and having a jukebox right in my car that can be instantly removed, so I don't have to worry about CD collections being ripped off if the car gets broken into. I tinted the windows with Lumar window tinting film, and the car stays cool even in hot weather which takes a load off of the A/C as well. I recommend the 6 speed auto transmission, since it gets better mileage than the 5 speed manual. I've saved a ton of money on gas in just the past year, and highly recommend this car! love it !...read morehide
