Purchased As New
Purchased new three months and 2500 miles ago, I also drove the Explorer for an extended test drive. In my opinion, (along with my wife who is 5'2"), no comparison. The Flex has been an excellent vehicle, which has far exceeded my expectations. I could easily keep driving cross country it's so comfortable. Many people have complained about the MyFord Touch system, but I have had no problems with it. The voice activated nav and Sync phone are quick, easy to use and hands free. I would have skipped the nav on the Explorer as they charge separately for it, but it was standard on the Flex limited, and the Flex had more rebates! I highly recommend the touch button start, solely for the ease of entry into the vehicle. I only have to touch the door handle when the remote is in my pocket and the doors unlock! I have a baby and this has been extremely helpful when loading him. I can also lock the vehicle by the handle. I never touch the remote. I've hauled two grocery cart loads of stuff from the hardware store without problem including two big pieces of plastic lattice. It's easier to load being closer to the ground. Gas mileage keeps increasing. I'm currently getting 20.5 MPG with the standard V6 FWD and 50/50 city/hwy driving. Honestly, I've become completely spoiled by this vehicle and wouldn't change a thing.
