I recently traded my '04 Explorer for an '06 Fusion SE V6 in Tungsten Silver. Never before have I received more compliments on a car. The exterior styling really stands out in the mid-size class. At first people thought it was an Infiniti or a Cadillac. Upon first sitting in it I was instantly comfortable with it's tilt/telescopic steering wheel and large comfortable seats. I love how Ford continues to have every control backlit, a feature commonly omitted by other manufacturers. I have also noted that Ford has used many soft-touch materials as opposed to the hard plastics used in many competitors. Engine and transmission performance is very good and it even has a nice, subtle exhaust note. The duratec engine is well regarded for it's reliability and Aisin transmissions are noted for their durability and smooth shifting characteristics. The steering is precise and the ride is comfortable. The trunk has struts holding it open preventing contents from being damaged from the commonly used goose-neck hinges. Overall I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase and would have no hesitation recommending the Fusion to others.
