Traded-in 2003 Taurus. The V6 Duratec engine is a great performer and provides astounding fuel economy. I frequently travel the Interstate and acheive 33 mpg. With combination driving (city/hwy) I avg. 26-27 mpg (conservative driver). I puchased in February of 2006 and had a full frontal collision at 25 mph with a Nissan Pathfinder 30days after purchase. Significant damage, but walked away without a scratch! Amazingly, the car was repaired and still performs like new. This is not my everyday car, but during snow & poor driving conditions, it performs well, and I prefer to drive it.
The door pulls had to be replaced d/t defect with chrome adhesion. The fabric used for the cloth seats could be of better quality, but the seating is comfortable and legroom is sufficient for a car in this class. If you're looking for a more subtle and luxury ride, the Five Hundred is pretty spectacular.
