- Okay gas milage with stick shift
- V6 won't win too many races
The V8 is $7750 is more than the V6. If you get the 4.0 liter V6 and you want that V8 feel, you can purchase a bigger gear for the rearend. It won't make your car faster, it will just give you that thrust off the line from stoplights and stopsigns. It will lower your gas milage a little though. I love V8 power but after the dealer mark ups, most Mustangs run about $33000 with a V8! The V6 is from the Ford Ranger and Ford Explorer. It powers those large vehicles pretty good. In the yellow pages there are rearend/differential shops that will install the gear for you. The 4.0 is good but the 4.2 liter from the Ford F-150 pickup might be a little more peppy. If you nead a V8, you could probably find good deal on an '05 or '06! This Ford has made big power fun again! It won't outsell the F-150 trucks anytime soon.
