I've always tended to German. Porsche 911, Audi RS4 (the most refined and best all round car I ever owned) and test driven lots. There is nothing close to the value and excitement of this car.

This from a review of the original cobra captures the new quite nicely.

"There's nothing nice about a Cobra. It's stripped down to it's essentials - a big engine, a small car, and 4 wide tires trying to keep the whole business on the pavement. It's loud, shakes, shudders and bucks. it makes your arms tired and your feet hot. You nearly crash about once every 10 minutes. It's so damn wonderful that you just can't believe it!"

Except that this car also has sat radio and nav, nice trim, a measure of practicality and you can buy it without robbing banks....read morehide

Well first off be ready to be stopped to talk, hated on, all the above in this machine. Ive had mine a couple months, it is the sicked supercar on the road hands down. For the price forget it, I get more attention than a guy in any $250k supercar made in italy and germany, let alone the maintance on those cars to boot. Its the best car ive ever driven, fast(forget it), comfortable, recaro leather seats, svt performace package, brembos the size of hubcaps, etc.......... I got the grabber blue no strips. I suggest highly getting the prepaid maintance thru ford covers everything accept tires, no shit! It adds a little to your payment and covers everything to 85k. Easily a daily driver, I dont though, I drive a 2007 tacoma doublecab prerunner everyday. The 2012 shelby gt 500 you will be a rare class of people for sure. They say the 2012 shelby will be a tick faster with slicks than the 2013 in a 1/4 mile because of the launch control and won't be offering the 3.73 gears on the 2013. You wont regret it if your thinking of getting one get it. I ordered mine with everything, the color, everything. That was very cool to be able to do. I feel a great sense of bride and i'm very proud to own this car, show it off, drive it, and you will too. Made right here in the USA in Las Vegas, NV! I plan on getting rid of my 04 cobra in a few years and am about 99% sure that im getting a 2012 GT-500 last year of the 550 version.
I hope that the 2013 GT500 allows the sales to decrease on the 2011-2012's because there pumping 650HP and priced very well.
My only concerns is the maintience and all the issues i have had on my SVT cobra.
From the rear diff leaking, to the alternator being replaced 2 times, FPRS sensor fried, and 2 replacement and rebuilt Superchargers.
I hear all the good things about the GT500,
i just dont really hear about problems, i guess thats a good thing, but maybe people who have issues dont waste time explaining it online, they only talk about the postives.
If theres anyone out there that has or had a 03-04 and maybe can relate to all my issues, please feel free to eliaborate and help me & the family and wife on getting a GT500. Because its already tough when they had to go through all the problems "with me" on my current cobra. Thanks again guys and gals. But mostly guys....read morehide

buy it dudes, in china it costs 250K $, here i want to say fuck china gov't! us guys r very lucky, one of my dudes just buy one bmw m3 convertible last week and he spent 250K $, so why wait, at thi sprice u can only buy one wrx sti in china, sounds ridiculous, right? but that is true! all my dudes ask me to buy one speedy car in china, but i will never do that to be cheated by china gover't, there is around 50% of the price being stolen by government, dealers and etc. so i only drive one golf gti in fucking china, anyway, i admire u guys very much!!!!!...read morehide

I've never rode a "donkey" but I have driven this car on a 2.5 mile road course on several occasions and found it to handle very well. No brake problems....fading...or under steer that I experienced. The straight line power is very impressive down the stretch to the start-finish line,clearly dominating all others...All the import guys can do is wave me by each time i lap them.......read morehide

Look, people...Appearance is hot, the ladies are very comfortable, it can haul A$$, it doesn't break down and that's a huge value. You just have to be honest with yourselves and ask yourselves a few questions such as, "Is it legal to actually do over 80mph on the highway, are you expecting a bubble bath when your neck gets thrown out of place from tapping on the accelerator, would a hot girl like to hop in when you whistle even though you don't know her and you don't mind stealing hot girls from their boyfriends, can your friends actually do better, and so forth?" those are the pros and cons. We all know that this car is more powerful than what's legally expected so just stop with the analyzing crap and understand one thing and one thing only.
