- Falls apart!

I was only the second owner of a 2000 Ford Taurus SE, and the previous owner wasn't exactly hard on it. When I first got it there was about 85,000 miles on it, and minimal rust. What a deal! Then things went downhill. I came out one day to find two flat tires, took the car in and was told that the ball joints were shot, and my other two tires were absolutely bald on the inside where you can't see. So, ball joints and tires repaired. Then the battery went out. Ok that can happen to any car. Then I realized the fuel gauge wasn't accurate, and wait, isn't there supposed to be air conditioning? Then one day I get out of the store and the car won't start. Needed a new starter, and I'm starting to actively hate this car. It's latest trick was to be overall noisy when turning, and then the fuel pump went out. I sold it as-is, hopefully nothing will go wrong for the guy who bought it since I pretty much replaced everything on the damned thing, but I'm NEVER buying a Ford again.
Even if I was guaranteed one that would work perfectly, I wouldn't get this car. The visibility is horrible, because of the massive amounts of plastic used in the trim. Also handles like a boat....read morehide

- A station wagon with a sports package that can seat seven comfortably and can be parked as a compact
- That Ford EVER stopped making this GREAT CAR!
Purchased As Used
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CAR! I have a 2000 with over 125,000 miles and I want to buy a newer one. Affordable to maintain, I still get over 20 mpg in the city. I am a big station wagon fan. With four kids we can travel all together with a friend or two and they fight over who gets to ride in the "cool" jump seat in the cargo area. I love the sporty feel of this car and the engine is fast. My friend with a Volvo wagon was blown away with the way this car handles. I can park in a compact space which is great for the city since I live in, Honolulu, Hi. I would LOVE Ford to reissue this car to replace the big SUV's that you can not park or get as great gas mileage or pack with as many kids as this fantastic station wagon!...read morehide
