- Pros
- averaged about 27 mpg when I left from CT to go home; very comfortable
Purchased As Used
I will not trade this car. I will keep this car until it cost too much money to fix. That is how much I love this car.

- Pros
- For full size car we are averaging 22mpg in dally use and 28mpg on road trips
- Cons
- the only complaint I have is some of the ergonomics, the steering wheel needs more adjustment
Of all the car we test drove this was the only one that we both got into and felt this is the one. I'm constantly impressed each time I get into the car. I have a Mazda 3 and average 29mpg so when we take the Taurus on are road trips (some 300 miles) to Pittsburgh now and use the Taurus over the Mazda 3 and get 28mpg I can't see way we will use the Mazda 3 for our road trips.
The only wish I have is we would have gotten a latter build so we could have gotten Sync....read morehide4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- High Stance, very quiet, very very snooth ride, tons of space
- Cons
- Sometimes slow to downshift, blinker noise
The Ford Taurus for 2008 is a great improvement from Ford and shows what kind of potential they have for the future. Just purchased a 2008 SEL with Reverse Sensing System and Adjustable Pedals. I love how the fog lights and alloy wheels come standard on the SEL, or base model. I enjoy the high stance as it adds greater visibility of the road and makes the car east to get in and out of. I would like it if the steering wheel had the telescopic adjustment because it seems as though I have to reach for the top of the wheel. One thing that bugs me is the annoying blinker noise; I think I would prefer the old fashioned relay sound... even if it is artificial. This is an overall great car and I would recommend it to anybody. Don't let the Taurus name affect your decision! -- It is new and improved!...read morehide

- Pros
- Excellent Handling for a car this size. Good power. Very quiet. Decent Fuel Economy. Sync is great.
- Cons
- None so far
The Taurus, for it's size, handles and performs quite well. It is also surprisingly quiet for this class of car at this price level. The controls are well thought out and well placed and very logical. There is a lot of rear seat leg room. The trunk is huge. Sync is great especially when you add a USB flash drive. The audiophile stereo is good to excellent with the ability to control how the sound is distributed (driver, rear, all). The Taurus has very good safety ratings. Braking is good to excellent. The climate control works very well. The air conditioning pump is quiet. I like the large gas tank to help reduce fuel stops. The ride is very smooth but you still have a good sense of the road without that "boat" effect. From my vantage point there are no blind spots and visibility is excellent all around. Having owned several cars over the years in this class this is by far the best of them. I am very very pleased with this automobile....read morehide

- Pros
- Nice interior, full of whistles and bells, cool looking exterior and great value
- Cons
- none. knock on wood. :)
Looked at Cadillac, but bought Taurus. Very happy with the decision. The car has rear motion sensor, high quality stereo with 6 disc CD changer, Microsoft in sync, keypad entrance, memory setting for seat, paddle and mirrors, heated seats and mirrors, high quality leather interior, 18 inch chrome wheels, roomy interior, lumbar support, nice safety features (volvo frame and 7 airbags)... The list goes on. All of these for $7,000 cheaper than the Cadillac that has basically none of the above.
The best value in town....read morehide4 out of 6 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Great Ride, Fuel Mileage, Comfort, Handling, Flat towable. Not enough space to list all
- Cons
- Paint is a little soft . Few chips in hood. Not a big thing. Carry a little touch up.
I have have many new cars from all the US manufactures and my 08 Taurus is the finest car I have ever owned. I have had it for one year and couldn't be more pleased. Highway mileage at 65mph is always over 30 mpg. Don't listen to the pros, because they will find fault with everything. I'm an average driver and I don't need a race cat to drive around. Remember be a proud American and to buy American....read morehide
