- High Stance, very quiet, very very snooth ride, tons of space
- Sometimes slow to downshift, blinker noise
The Ford Taurus for 2008 is a great improvement from Ford and shows what kind of potential they have for the future. Just purchased a 2008 SEL with Reverse Sensing System and Adjustable Pedals. I love how the fog lights and alloy wheels come standard on the SEL, or base model. I enjoy the high stance as it adds greater visibility of the road and makes the car east to get in and out of. I would like it if the steering wheel had the telescopic adjustment because it seems as though I have to reach for the top of the wheel. One thing that bugs me is the annoying blinker noise; I think I would prefer the old fashioned relay sound... even if it is artificial. This is an overall great car and I would recommend it to anybody. Don't let the Taurus name affect your decision! -- It is new and improved!...read morehide

- This is an outstanding automobile and a great value for the money. Very comfortable, high seating.
- Only 2 forward gears. Dashboard difficult to read in daylight with sun glasses.
I have not owned a car in recent memory that did not have D,3,2 & L forward speeds. I frequently used 3 for steep downhill grades. The dashboard need much more contrast between the letters/numbers and the dark background (see the Cadillac DTS.) The time and exterior temperature readings on the far side of the center console are very difficult to read and to look at them you must completely take your eyes off the road.Other than these items, the car is a joy to drive....read morehide

- room, smooth ride, quiet, huge trunk, great fuel economy , plenty of power
- glove compartment could be larger, that is all I could think of
I have owned many different cars including buicks, chevrolets, chryslers, hondas, and toyotas. The new taurus beats them all for room, smooth quiet ride, comfort of the seat, and visibility. And it costs much less than any car that comes close. The new 3.5 engine and 6-speed transmission are wonderful. I don't understand why this is not the best selling car in america. I recomend that everyone shopping for a new family car drive one. You will not be dissapointed. I love the car. I feel like I am driving a luxury car but did not pay a luxury price....read morehide

- More leg room that my Town Car, excellent mileage, great looking, super quiet, great performance
- Gas Gauge is very inaccurate. Parking on a hill fuel guage reads empty, yet tank full
Never more pleased with any new car. I have owned more than 20 Ford cars and trucks. All have been great but our new Taurus blows away any Ford I've owned. Quality feels better than Honda, Toyota, Nissan. Quiest car I ever owened. Super performance with great fuel mileage. Back seats have more room than my Lincoln Town Car or even my in-laws Cadilac Deville. I love the looks of the car. Love the chrome! Love the 6 speed transmission. This transmission is a real plus over foreign and domestic cars. Never know when transmission shifts gears it's so smoothe. Honestly, this is the best value of any car I know of. My car is an SEL yet it has so many standard features and I got a remarkable deal on the car. Even if I paid the sticker price, the car's price is remarkable. You just get the most car for the money of any car I know of. Handling is wonderful. I just can't express the joy of ownership of this car....read morehide

- MPG, appearance, Horsepower, driving comfort, no blind spots, roomy interior
- None to speak of ... this is the perfect car - Good job Ford!
This car is, by far, the best car I have ever owned. I am so proud of this car and happily try to get people to buy it.
I can take the whole family of 5 in this car very comfortably. A run across town or cross country is a breeze in this car because it is so comfortable. I'd like to have the seats in my office!
I drove a Cadillac while on an assignment and was impressed with it. When I drove this Taurus, I was equally impressed.
I recommend this car as it is the best overall. No import or domestic vehicle can touch it!...read morehide

- Power, highway mileage, room, trunk space, value, seat comfort
- No bodyside moldings, engine noise, ungainly styling, heated seats should be with leather option
Overall pretty pleased with my 08 Taurus. It has all the room I could ever need and the new 3.5 liter V6 is plenty powerful. Highway mileage has reached almost 30 in several circumstances and the Ford/GM 6 speed automatic is a competent transmission. The styling is tall and ungainly and is made worse by the lack of a door molding which would break up the slab sided door and protect it from neigboring cars and trucks and why did Ford not include heated seats with the leather option?...read morehide

- Easy entry and exit, both front and especially back. Great highway fuel milage
- Steering too sensitive, constantly have to move sterring wheel to hold coarse on road,
Standard equipment is quite impressive, I was surprised by the large amount that is included in the base price. Add on the interior convenience package and the saftey and security package and you have nicely equipted car. Gas mileage was better than expected, averaged over 29 MPG on 900 mile trip, at 70 MPH. Not bad for a car of this size. Ride is comfortable at highway speeds, but there is suspension noise at low speed when you are on a not too bumpy road. This can be noticed on both front and back wheels, even though the air is at the recomended 32 psi in tires. Carpeting is poor and the all weather mats I purchase from Ford have worn holes in them from the rubber grippers on them....read morehide
