Purchased As New
Two years ago, my wife had her car in the shop, a P.O.S. Mercury Montego. She received a Taurus SEL as a replacement for a week. I didn't want her to get her car back from the shop. This was one nice car! Heads and shoulders above the car it was replacing. Some friends who own Mercedes thought we bought a Mercedes when they saw the car.
It rides great! Has good throttle response, unlike the 2011 Explorer and Edge I test drove yesterday. Both of the SUV's felt as if a computer was metering the acceleration which made them unresponsive and problematic merging on the freeway. After the two SUV test drives I wanted to get into a Taurus again. What a difference!
It's taken me two years to finally find a car that was "me" as much as my previous car, a 2001 Mazda Tribute ES. I was stuck on the idea of an SUV again, but my wife talked me into getting a car and keeping the Mazda for days I need the space for work.
I'm getting the Tuxedo Black exterior with the charcoal interior and the 201A package for the SYNC. $29,145. Not bad. The car is a looker, I know because I'm one of those looking. I haven't owned a car for 11 years so I can't wait to drive this to work for the first time! I'll update later when I've had it for a while.
