The greatest mustang built.

by Redwithsilver08snake from Oak Harbor, Ohio (4/23/08)
Pros:Awesome power in every gear, 14" Brakes stop this heavy car very well.
Cons:Terrible wheelhop

With the exception of the horrific wheelhop this car has at the track, it is flawless in every other category. The seats are great and really offer good support for spirited driving. A lot of people on here complain about the dealer markups, but if your willing to do some looking you can find one for sticker as I did. This car draws attention everywhere it goes. As for performance, I have about $1000 in upgrades done to my car and I wouldnt be afraid to race anything out there.

Max Shelby

by rbawdo from Saltillo tx (4/04/08)
Pros:overall performance is teriffic.... it's response is different than my 03 Mach 1, t
Cons:road noise from agressive tires

This car with it's all out performance takes time to learn to drive, the 1, 2 shift will put you out of control with the massive torque if you are not on top of it.

2008's got nothing on 1968!

by Sold out Chevy man from Outer Banks, NC (3/27/08)
Pros:Fair attempt at recreating something from a better era
Cons:Don't try to mix muscle with luxury

I still don't understand why someone who thinks they want a muscle car would spend 50k on something from the 21st century. What's it worth in two years? If you want some heart and soul muscle, and you've got that kind of coin to drop, and you just gotta have a mustang, go back to the 60's and spend your 50k on a true muscle car (not an immitation), and something that appreciates. I went with a '68 RS Camaro, and the longer I have it, the more it's worth. I get a heck of a lot more looks than a 2007 Rustang. You Ford fans need to work on your spelling, most of these reviews should bring shame on the level of intelect that Ford owners posess. Sorry.

Nice if you have a deep wallet

by Donavon from Denham Springs,LA (3/25/08)
Pros:IT isa ford, design is great, curves are smooth,
Cons:NEEDS LARGER BREAK CALIBERS TO HANDLE THE EXTRA WEIGHT ... AND SO ON...

Dealer market up vehicle to 57k, not to include a gas guzzler tax of 1300.00 ,( All Star Ford) in denham springs,LA)) . Went out of state to get it cheaper. car is heavy and rear slips in turns, exceleration is semi delayed, bearly hear the super charger. But over all a great gas guzzler if you have the extra money to spend on gas alone....

Sweetest Muscle on the floor these days!

by Commonsensia from Alabama (3/23/08)
Pros:What can I say it brings back the days that I owned the 69 version!
Cons:The cost, and the comfort.

The performance, the look and the horsepower are to die for! I get flashbacks every time I am in it, and you can't help but feel younger lol.

But with todays technology, they could have made it allot more comfortable inside. and not lost that much in the way of performance, heck being to light was the only weakness of the older version of this motor car.

If you can afford the price then you can not go wrong with the muscle car and in a another year you will never be able to get another of this breed from the dealers, thanks to the new regulations coming down from our wonderful leaders.

Problem is, most folks including myself can no longer afford these prices thanks to the same as above. So maybe I will min the lottery, or they will choose to give me one for old time sake but thats about the only chance I have for this one.

A very fun toy

by Matt from Minneapolis, MN (3/18/08)
Pros:Great power, smooth ride and very comfortable. Shaker 1000 stereo is a must.
Cons:Car is heavy

I am chevy guy all the way. This is the best value out there. Tons of aftermarket options that are very affordable, would recommend to anyone. Had car to 130 on freeway and there was alot left. Negotiate with dealer before you buy they have a lot of room and they want to sell, if they dont, walk out!

Muscle car all the way

by Mad Maxx from Vancouver, B.C. Canada (3/05/08)
Pros:A fun car to drive, puts a smile on my face everyday, a stoplight to stoplight monster
Cons:Would have liked more creature comforts like Heated and memory seats, auto lights etc.

I have a 07 c6 and a 08 gt500. The c6 is a much more refined car but lacks the muscle feel. The gt500 is all muscle car. Adding a k&n intake and Magnaflow exhaust gave me 70 more hp and 40lbs more torque. I only paid 2500 over msrp for the gt and i am very happy. The car comes with 3 year bumper to bumper warranty, and for $1000 I got it bumped to 7 years, I find that when I walk into the garage its the gt that is calling my name. On the plus side, when I trade in the vette it will have really low mileage. I bought the gt because I wanted that 69 mustang I dreamed of as a kid. Based on that the gt500 delivers in spades. I could not be happier with the car. It is what it is. A true modern muscle car. If you want a car that is fun to drive, with more power than you can legally use on any road in North America, than look no further. If you want all the toys and creature comforts this is not the car for you. People who give the gt500 a bad review just don
