Ok for lighter usage

by jh from Tulsa, OK (4/30/08)
Pros:Comfortable interior
Cons:4x4 went out

We have this truck as a farm truck. We specifically wanted something to drive in pastures with, get feed, do fencing, etc etc. Would be ok truck for some one who does not use it like a farm truck, this is a city truck. The 4x4 went out while crossing a stream in the pasture when the truck was 3 mos old. Could not get out of 4x4 but none of the wheels would engage. Had to get a f350 to tow it out and to the dealership. Dealer said 4x4 linkage had come loose and shifter had come completely out of alignment. Dealer fixed problem, only for it to have the transmission fail shortly after. Have not had problem since but would not buy another one.

Best full size truck on the market!

by Rick from Pacheco, Ca. (4/19/08)
Pros:This ia a great truck!
Cons:None

I have a 2004 Lariat 4x4 with 5.4 motor. Commuting in the San Francisco East Bay I average 15.5 MPG. On an open freeway at 70 miles per hour I average 17 MPG.
This truck is a head turner both inside and out. I whitewater kayak so in running shuttle I get a lot of different people in my truck, The usual reaction is "Wow, this is a Ford? " The leather seats have held up great and the front seats are super comfy. The interior of this truck is as nice as a luxury car. The sound system is great also.
At 70K miles it has been in the shop once to re-program the computer, It stalled on the freeway a couple of times and I was able to re-start it without coming to a stop.
I have an 18' ski boat when pulling it up the hills I can barely feel that it is there, the motor has great low end torque.
The brakes are great (I had a 96 F-150 before and the brakes were awful)
This truck handles better than any truck that I test drove exept the Nissan Titan. I didn't buy the Titan because the interior seemed cheap and flimsy. Now 4 years later we don't here many people singing the praises of the Titan!

MISLEADING INFOR.

by jason from dewitt (11/21/07)
Pros:it was cheaper than other 1/2 ton V8s
Cons:Still eats gas like BIG V-8

before i bought the truck the salesman told me that ford redid the 08 4.6 V-8 F-150 and that it would be getting better gas mileage and more hp then the old 4.6 and any other small V-8s out there. well that was a lie its still the same 4.6 V-8 its a GAS hog now i wish i would have just gotta the 5.4 V-8, they havent done anyting to it. i wanted a V-8 power but with good gas mileage and i've hear and knew that 4.6 V-8 is alittle under power compare to other small V-8s. thats the last time i deal with that dealership.

AWESOME TRUCK

by Michael from Welling, OK (11/06/07)
Pros:sporty, built ford tough, out pulls/runs my friend's toyota that he paid nearly double for.
Cons:mine is black so hard to keep clean.

I have the FX4 version with the 5.4 3V Triton, auto trans w/ shifter on the floor. This vehicle is awesome. I recommend this truck to anyone who wants a strong, reliable truck for the family, but wants a truck that has no problem going off the paved trail to create its own.
