Dodge better than Ford. Believe it.

by Duallyman from Florida (7/04/08)
Pros:Upgraded interior
Cons:Power over rated, lousy milage, too much squat with trailer

I recently traded a 2008 F350 dually 4x4 with 3500 miles on it for a 2008 Dodge 3500 dually 4x4. Man what a difference. I know you Ford diehards won't agree but drive a Dodge first then argue. Better yet find someone who owns one and tow something. You won't be able to get to a Dodge dealer fast enough. The key points for the Dodge are it gets better MPG and it has more power. Yes more power. Remember the Cummins diesel is a true in line 6 cylinder diesel motor. Its built for class 6 and 7 trucks and Dodge put it in a class 3 rated truck. Not to mention with a 4:10 axle it can tow 16,700 pounds. Thats on paper. I know it can pull more. The 350 is rated for 15000LBS and the 450 for 16000LBs on paper...With a maxium load one has to floor the gas pedal in the Ford. It takes awhile to get moving. That eats lots of fuel. Also have you ever noticed the lag the truck has when you punch the accelerater without a load. That incidently is not a new problem. The 6.0's for also know for that...For the record I've owned a few Fords in my time so I know what I'm taking about. Once you drive a Dodge or better yet tow something you will be amazed. You'll feel a little guilty, like I did, but you'll have to admit that the Dodge is better.

Overall, Love this Truck

by Jason Sousa from Sarasota Florida (4/16/08)
Pros:Smooth Ride, Towing & Pulling Power, Sharp Looking
Cons:Awful Sound System, God Awful Fuel Economy, Needs Larger Fuel Tank (38 Gal)

I currently have 5,000 miles on my 2008 F-350 Diesel 6.4 DRW, I'm only getting 10 - 11.5 MPG @ 65 - 72 MPH Highway in Florida.

Also had to purchase after market Infinity 6x8 speakers, Ford has awful Sound Systems.

Needs a larger Fuel Cell, Towing 15,000 Lbs I'm getting 7.5 - 8.5 MPG
@ 60 - 65 MPH, was filling tank every 280 - 300 Miles.

Otherwise, truck is great. I also own a 2008 Chevy Truck, Hands down the Ford wins overall.

DIESEL HOG

by GIL MOYERS from ONTARIO, CA (2/25/08)
Pros:Comfortable, lots of creature comforts, easy to read guages
Cons:DIESEL HOG, DRINKS IT LIKE WATER, DID I SAY DIESEL HOG, OH YEA, DRINKS IT LIKE WATER AND ITS A DIES

DID I SAY DIESEL HOG YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU BETTER MAKE SURE YOU CAN AFFORD TO FEED THIS PIG BEFORE YOU GO TO SWAP YOUR OTHER TRUCK IN. DEFINATELY A TESTED TUFF TRUCK BUT IT DOES HAVE SOME WEIRD TRANSMISSION TENDECIES, I.E. ODD SHIFTING AND NOT SMOTH. IF YOU HAVE AN 05,06, OR 07, YOU WOULD BE MUCH BETTER OF KEEPING IT. IF YOU HAVE MORE MONEY THAN BRAINS LIKE I DID AT THE TIME GO AHEAD AND SWAP.
ALL YOU NEE TO DO IS BREAK OUT THAT $100 EVERY TIME YOU PULL INTO THE STATION WHICH WILL BE DAILY IF YOU DRIVE MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

poor

by joe griffith from High Level alberta canada (1/22/08)
Pros:beautiful truck, rides great
Cons:terrible fuel economy

everything is great when you want to buy the truck except the sales team will forget to tell you that it will cost you a fortune in diesel fuel to run to the grocery store, 7 mpg is not acceptable, worse yet is when you phone ford, they say "were working on it" but theres no answers to any of my frustrations, I definatly would not buy another Ford.

ENGINEERS AT FORD ARE CLUELESS

by YANN MAUGEE from FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA (1/16/08)
Pros:EXCELLENT RIDE, COMFORT AND GREAT LOOKS!!!!
Cons:CHEAP WEATHER STRIPS, POOR FUEL ECONOMY !!!

REF:::2008 LARIAT CREW CAB 4X4 DRW!!

SINCE THE ENGINEERS AT FORD ARE CLUELESS ABOUT
DESIGNING A FUEL EFFICIENT DIESEL MOTOR THAT IS
BETTER OR THE SAME AS THE PREVIOUS YEARS. PERHAPS
IF ANYBODY OUT THERE CAN ENGINEER A DEVICE OR A
ADD-ON MODICATION TO THE 2008 DIESEL THAT WILL GIVE
IT BETTER ECONOMY, I WOULD BE WILLING TO PURCHASE
THAT DEVICE FOR UP $ 10,000.00. THAT IS LESS MONEY
THAN I WILL SPEND TO RUN THIS TRUCK FOR 5 YEARS
COMPARED TO THE OLDER SUPERDUTY TRUCK.
WHAT A JOKE !!!! THE CHINEESE ARE COMING !!

Ford out done them selfs.

by Cowboy from North Pole Alaska (10/11/07)
Pros:I have not one issue with my King Ranch. I am getting 14 - 16 mpg with only 1300 mile so far
Cons:Parking at a store. Found backing in the best way.

I enjoy how quiet the engine is, the power and handling. I also enjoy how smooth the ride is. I like how it turns the head of other brand owners. Over all, I am one happy owner.

I have had 2 F150's and this F350 is the best.

by Tom from Windsor, Ontario, Canada (9/12/07)
Pros:This is excellent truck I would recommend it to anyone. Lots of fun to drive.
Cons:The fuel tank is to small I"am adding a fuel tank in the truck bed for long hauls with a trailer.

As far as the fuel milage goes on this 6.4 diesel, I have no complaints since it far better then the 5.4 3valve gas engine.

You Need to own stock in Exxon to own one!!

by John from Springfield, MA (6/21/07)
Pros:Great options, Nice ride
Cons:POOR GAS MILAGE 12.4 - 13.5 MPG

Gas Milage is the only issue I have with my new truck:

My 2002 7.3 Diesel 16 - 22MPG
MY 2004 6.0 Diesel 14.5 - 19.5
My 2008 6.4 Diesel 12.4 - 13.5

Ford is going in the wrong direction!!!!!
