Great truck! Great Price! Great Mileage!

by Bill from Savannah, GA (7/14/08)
Pros:28 MPG in town! Comfortable I'm 6'4". Mine looks slick!
Cons:Idle in drive is a little rough but its a 4 cyl.

I love my Ranger. It's a standard cab 2007 XLT in grey. The gas mileage is great. I have had it for 1 1/2 years now with 0 problems. I opted for the 4 cyl. with an automatic transmission and with gas prices the way they are I could not be happier. I have done some minor upgrades such as tinting the windows, adding an ARE tonneau cover, and upgrading the plain wheels to American Racing AR-23 wheels which really make it look slick. Please don't get me wrong the wheels are the same size as the orginals not the goofy looking comic wheels you see on some vehicles. I drive like I am going to the beach, everywhere, and I think if all of us would slow down and drive carefully it would send a message to the oil gods. On that note let me say that doing the speed limit, gradual acceleration, and gradual stops saves alot of gas, reduces the wear and tear on your vehicle, and drastically reduces your accident chances and reduces your aggivation with your commute. Put some tunes on and cruise to the "beach". Your wallet and your blood pressure will thank you. Its the trip not the destination.

A nice little truck.

by Bill O. from Loma Linda, CA (6/05/08)
Pros:Cab roominess, handling, radio, durability, 5sp. automatic, quiet at speed.
Cons:Stiff ride, gas mileage.

Have 2005 "Edge" 4x2 version w/3.0 liter V-6, 5 sp. auto. Nice little truck, seems very durable, just the right size for routine transportation and light hauling. Very good handling, adequate power, Surprisingly nice-sounding base radio/CD. Surprisingly quiet on the freeway. Edge styling is not bad. Extended cab is very roomy for a compact pickup. Gas mileage not great. Ride a bit stiff and choppy but of course it is a truck. A perfect household utility vehicle to own!

Nice truck

by P.W. from Merced, Ca (11/24/07)
Pros:So far so good Real roomy inside and comfortable for me being 6'3".
Cons:Rides a little rough but it is a truck!

Coming back from L.A. where I bought it the ride was nice and the cab is real roomy and there is room to stretch out and the passenger can lean back and nap if they like. The stereo sounds great and very crisp. I don't know what the last guy was having a problem with but I think he's wrong. I did find one thing coming down the hill 90 was it rev limiter was hit and there was no more. But the speed limit is way below that so not to worry. Very nice truck!!

A thirsty, but modest addtion to the Ford Family.

by TK from Houston, TX (11/19/07)
Pros:Good handling, small size is handy for parking while offering good use for a truck.
Cons:Feels underpowered, avging 17 mpg commuting, not for large drivers.

It's a great little truck, but the only real issues I have is that the engine isn't as responsive as it could be (I know it's a truck). Also for a small truck it eats gas ... 17mpg average with an average speed of 45mph. As far as the "trucky-ness" goes, it's got a good amount of space in the bed, and acts like you'd expect a truck to. It's fun to drive corners like a champ suprisingly. All in all, it's a simple truck that's a modest addition to the Ford Ranger family.

Sidenote: They do make 2008 models capable of 21 mpg avg.

what a joke

by art from newport, ca (10/17/07)
Pros:none
Cons:there is nothing good about this pu

I traded in my import p.u. for this one because I wanted to drive american. Never again will I make that mistake again. This is the worst truck I have ever owned. Everything about this truck is cheap, things break, it has no power. My old 1992 4cyl import pu seems to have more power than this piece of trash, don't be fooled ford still can't make a good pu.
