This truck is great.. great mpg for a small truck best in class mpg i should say in a small truck they last for a very long time good ride nice seats breaks very nice looks tough and is tough. great truck.

There are too many people makeing false statements about this truck i think it's a great truck im on my 3rd one i had a 1986 ranger with 200,000 miles on it and sold it to my brother he still drives it around then i got a 1992 ranger and put 300,000 miles on it and it still runs good i just bought a 2008 ranger and it is great the best small truck in it's class better then any import small truck or dodge or chevy this truck is great.

I have a 2001 for Edge 4x4 Super Cab with the 4.0L SOHC and 5 speed automatic. This truck has 212,000 miles on it, does not use oil and is fairly maintence free. The 5 speed is very smooth and the engine has plenty of power for hauling or just getting on the highway. In half throttle is more than enough to get on the highway. I see the comments from others saying the for a small truck it does not have enough power but get real, unless you are doing the 1/4mile it is wasted. These trucks can take a lot of abuse with minimal maintenance. People tout the European Makers but the maintenance on those vehicles will kill you.

The only issue I have is the truck will not hold it's alignment and is very tough on tires.

I seen the european ranger with a deisal, what a cool truck! It hauls 6500#s, And an impressive 42mpg! The perfect vehical for us construction workers. I dont understand why ford wont sell them here, they would sell a million of them. They have been on the market there for about three years now. Thats what happens when private interest groups (oil companies) run your country!

I was just browsing around and I saw this car. It just happens that I have a car with a 2.7 litre DIESEL engine which has the same number of BHP. Come one Ford... You could use at least the Jaguar's 3 litre engine with 240BHP, since you (still) own Jaguar. Why selling junks in US?

I presently own a 2004 Ranger FX4 LII w/ the 4.0L SOHC engine, and while it's peppy, the fact that Toyota and Nissan have both "upgraded" their 4.0L's to a DOHC V-6, that puts out 236 and 261 hp respectfully, Ford missed the boat with not "Up-grading" the Ranger as well. I've heard constant rumor's over the last couple of years now that Ford was to come out with a new Ranger based on the Dodge Dakota sized truck. Well, where is it??????
I don't think I'll be getting another Ranger when I finally decide to get another truck, just because it now has a very dated look & performance compared to the other midsized trucks!! Some people just don't need or want a full-sized truck, so you'd think that the Car companies would do a better job of satisfying this segment of the automobile industry.

Great little truck, tough looks great price.Comfortable interior, fairly quiet at highway speed,nice sound system

The look of the ranger hasn't changed for years, but it is still a good truck.

But the Ranger could do a little better on performance and capabilities.

But overall, it's a very good small truck!
