2009 GMC Canyon Extended Cab 4WD
- Smooth Ride, Better Fule Economy Then Full Size Trucks
- Takes A While To Warm Up In The Cold
I have owned a 94 S-10 and used a 98 Ram in the past. I Decided the time was right to buy a new vehicle because of the Canadian dollar. As soon as I pulled the Canyon off the lot on my test drive I was in love.
The deal I got on this vehicle was fantastic! Compared to the S-10 and the Ram the fuel economy of the Canyon is great. The sticker MPG of 34 highway is laughable. This sites 24-MPG highway is accurate it may even be better then that but I have not had a chance to drive it in anything above -20 Celsius (-4 Fahrenheit)
Which brings me to my next point that if it gets to cold outside (I'm talking -40 Celsius/Fahrenheit) it may take up to 10 miles of driving after you warm up the truck for 5 minutes to get any substantial heat.
The interior is comfortable and roomy for a smaller truck, the other trucks I have driven have been regular cab so the extra room in the extended is great. If you will need to get a person in the back however go for the crew.
The inline 4 has been great thus far. It is comparable power wise to the V-6 I had in my S-10. But if you are used to driving a V8 an inline 4 may not be for you.
So if you are a fan of the smaller truck or need something with better gas mileage imho the Canyon is a great way to go!...read morehide
