I have factory ordered my new GMC Sierra and have not yet taken possession of it. While test driving I found the truck very impressive. I like the looks and thought the price was reasonable. I also found the information on the dash very easy to read and the information availlable very goo. I like the transmission temp, the gas mileage read out, and the speedometer. I was totally impressed with how seamless it went from 8cylinder mode to 4 cylinder mode. I am extremely happy about the new warranty. but not too happy at how expensive it is to make the bumper to bumper warranty good for the same as the power train warranty.
On the other hand there are a couple of things that could be improved on. I had to order a truck with a bench in the front as I need seating for 6. The middle seat in the front bench has been changed to provide storage under the seat. This means the seat cushion in the center seat is the lid to the storage compartment and it is not very comfortable. There is vertually little or no cushion. I will be actively looking for an after market fix for this. Another issue for me is the temperature control on the dash. To change the temp you need to repeatedly push the button. This is time consuming and takes your attention off the road. I much prefer a knob that I can turn, as it takes a fraction of the time. While looking I found that the color choices are limited and there is no two-tones availlable. There were some options availlable in the 2007 Classic model that were not availlable in the new model when ordered with the bench seat that I would have liked to have. I was very disappointed with the range that the remote start has. The cheapest after market system on the arket will out perform it. It is a great idea to have a remote start system availlable from the factory, but put in a good one, charge more if you need to.
Looking back I have more negatives than positives, but obviously I liked the truck, I am buying one. This is a nice truck and I look forward to owning one. Maybe I will come back with another review after I have put 20,000 miles on it....read morehide
