This is a great truck but to hard to get repaird at a quality dealer. When you do finally get in the cost is way to great for what you get.

- decent fuel economy
- ride is possibly the worst I have had in a truck , extremely uncontrolled on highway with a few bump
This truck is the most uncontrolled ride I have ever had in a truck of this caliber, extremely jittery like it had no shocks at all , on the highway going around a corner it will walk sideways if there are a few bumps .
Had a 00 silverado which I thought was much better than this 05 can't say what the solution will be the truck is under 1000 mi. yet but I am
extremely disappointed so far , the exterior and interior are quite nice

- 20-22 mpg right from start, quiet engine, superb ride, good handling
- none so far
This is my kind of truck. I am 6'2" tall, have long leg room and tall head room. It fits just right. The a/c does an excellent job, doors close solid, no rattles or squeaks, steering is precise and smooth, visibility through front window is unlimited.
I have the all aluminum 310 hp engine w/electric fans, never overheats. 4 whl drive system is smooth, cloth bucket seats feel good. (I do not like leather) Transmission shifts are solid and precise.
I like the self dimming rear view mirror, compass and outside temp readings, heated outside mirrors and turn signal arrow in the mirrors just to name a few.
I have nothing bad to say about this truck. I really wish I would have bought the quadrasteer unit and added more equipment but-------- I saw it on the dealer lot and bought it two days later. Would I buy another one, you bet I would....read morehide

- Fuel economy is ok
- Transmission allows truck to roll backwards on slight incline and they say it is normal
Yes I have a problem with the transmission and I will buy another AMERICAN made truck on my next go round but it probably won't be a chevy or GMC. I hate it when someone tells you that when you pull up to a light it is normal for your truck to roll backwards (automomatic trans). I have owned 6 brand new trucks and this is the only one that has rolled backwards while in gear. I also hate it when they say they can't recreate a problem. I think it's just too much work for them and they don't want to tackle the problem. Now GMC used to have a commercial "1 percent" or something, humbug!. I'm really dissapointed in the answers I got from my service department. Just remember this. If you plan on buying a new truck (or used) test the transmission to see if it will roll backwards while your on a slight incline. If you get one that doesn't, buy it because I have never had a problem with the other 5 GM trucks I purchased. We'll see if I can get it resolved after arbitration. Yes I'll buy another AMERICAN made truck, it just might be a Ford though!...read morehide
