First of all, I really like this vehicle. Its huge interior compliments nicely its carlike driving dynamics and relatively small exterior. There's no "truckiness" about it. We've had a few bugs to work out with it however, specificaly in the heating/cooling system and with a couple electrical gremlins. I'm assuming these have been worked out with later model years. shifting sucks, major transmission problems, nothing but a headache

We were very excited about getting this vechicle, we have owned it 4 months and it has been in the shop for approximately 1 month. We have had major transmission problems right from the start, they have just put in a new transmission and hours after it was "fixed" it was acting up again. ie. traveling down the 401hwy at 110kl and we are screaming at 4000 to 5000 rpms and not shifting at all. Am very happy with new Acadia. Had it for just about three months now. Good on gas mileage for the size/weight of the vehicle. Does everything we need it to - holds 8 spaciously, DVD for the kids, On-Star and hands-free calling, AWD (much needed up here in Canada) and the brick leather interior is beautiful! I have owned many makes of vehicles, most recently a Land Rover, but always remembered my GM Jimmy as my fav, so when I saw the Acadia I knew I would love it. We love this car! It gets great mileage for the size. It has lots of room, even in the third row seat. The Bose 5.1 sound system is amazing. Runs super quiet and drives like a luxury car.

We looked and drove the Odessey, but after checking the reviews, we decided to go with the Acadia.

The next thing GMC needs to do is to produce the Acadia in hybrid form! We will buy it again....read morehide

We've recently purchased a GMC Arcadia SLT-2 AWD. I love this vehicle. I have a model that is pretty well equiped with GPS and DVD. However that doesn't matter, its mostly for a wife that has problems getting lost and with two small kids the DVD player is almost a must nowadays. I've test drove about 95% of all mid-large size SUV's. I feel that the GMC Arcadia and the Toyota Highlander drove the best out of all of the SUV's. The reason I went with the Arcadia was because of the comfort of the 3rd row seating. The only con that I can find with the SUV is the price. Its really expensive, luckily I had a Mustang that was paid off which I could trade in on in (not proper grammer) order to get a lower monthly payment....read morehide

THE BACK GETS DIRTY FAST.

JUST TOOK MY NEW ACADIA ON A 1,700 MILE ROAD TRIP. MYSELF AND TWO KIDS.. I HAVE DONE THIS TRIP SEVERAL TIMES, AND THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT I WAS EXCITED TO GO. MY NEW CAR MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE.. THE KIDS WERE HAPPY, CAUSE THEY WERE COMFORTABLE. I WAS HAPPY, BECAUSE I WAS COMFORTABLE. THE RIDE IS SO SMOOTH, ALMOST TO SMOOTH. I GOT A SPEEDING TICKET BECAUSE I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT I WAS GOING FAST.. THEN I LEARNED TO USE CRUZE CONTROL REAL FAST.. GAS NOT BAD CONSIDERING THE KIND OF CAR I WAS DRIVING.
