- Pros
- great fuel economy, nice ride
- Cons
- black interior shows every speck of dirt

I was set on buying a car when trading in my GMC envoy. I even brought a Buick verano home. We decided that we just didn't have enough backseat legroom in the car so took it back and decided on the GMC terrain. I loved the looks of it and it has so much leg room way more than I had in my envoy. The only thing it is lacking is rear air and heat which my envoy had, but while I had it in my envoy it wasn't used much because my son always complained of being to cold when the rear air was on so the terrain should be perfectly fine for our little family of three!!...read morehide

- Pros
- Room, Fuel economy
- Cons
- Front seats
Purchased As New
We love this car. We have two kids that play hockey and all their equipment fits in back easily. Plenty of room in the back seat. I see a lot of people complain about fuel economy but we have no complaints. Went form Chicago to Aberdeen, SD and averaged 31 MPG. This was mostly flat terrain at about 65 MPH.We have about 20,000 miles on a 2011 model and have had no problems so far....read morehide

- Pros
- comfortable ride, plenty of space for small vehicle
- Cons
- no rear tailgate tie down for long loads gas milage not good
Purchased As New
bought this car around Thanksgiving I drive primarily on the freeway from Central Calif to Bay Area.. the freeway milage is supposed to be 32 mpg so far i am averaging 23.4. not only on the in car computer, but manual calculations as well
dont know where the 32 mpg came from they must test at 55mph on flat surface to get the 32 EPA rating 4 cyl is gutless up any hill, so thats why the gas milage is probably so far off
which is the main reason for buying this and not a Ford Edge
plus the price was better. like the vehicle, hate the gas milage...read morehide4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

- Lack of power - ride not comfortable

In October we rented a Buick Enclave and drove 4500 miles in 10 days. This past week we rented the Terrain and drove 2300 miles in 10 days. On the second day, my wife commented I don't know the price difference but the Enclave is well worth it. She is correct. I felt much better after the 4500 miles in the Enclave vs. the 2300 in the Terrain. The seating was much more comfrotable, ride was smoother, and it had power to pass. Something the Terrain lacked...read morehide

- Pros
- Exquisite leather seats! Roomy! Smooth ride.
- Cons
- None so far!
Purchased As New
Driver seat is roomy, even as bigger person. My passengers have plenty of room in the back as the seat slides back to afford more leg room. I am truly in awe of the large center homescreen. I also have become a fan of leather seats. I can't wait to see what I think in the summer.

- Cons
- Eco mode, gas door location, still using a key!

I love my little Denali. It gets quite alot of looks while on the road. The gas mileage is what I expected with the 4 cyl and has enough pep to keep me going. Infotainment system is the best and Pioneer speakers rock!
Plenty of leg room in the second row...heated front seats heat the lower back as well as your bottom....Safety features are cutting edge as well....read morehide2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- better MPG than my 08 G5, I like this engine, actually.
- Cons
- Eco Mode has trade off's, front seats are shaped a little odd
Purchased As New
I work with these vehicles every day as a tech, over all they do not have many issues. I bought one for me and my wife over the week end. I came from a 08 Pontiac G5. I have driven this for a few days and, about 200 miles so far (thats a lot on a island)
Power and MPG. The FWD model I have has more than enough power IMO, the 6 Speed transmission helps this. I would say that it is faster than my old 2.2L G5, even though it is 1,000lbs heavier. With that, it also gets about the same, or greater MPG than the car did. I averaged 29MPG over the week end (not bad for a almost 4,000 lb flat nosed SUV)
Eco Mode. this mode is supposed to increase MPG about 1-2.
I have not done extensive testing to validate this but, I can see that being possible. The down side of using Eco Mode is, the transmission shifts are more noticeable and harsher, and not as smooth over all regarding accel and decel at lower speeds. On the Highway there is no noticeable difference between Eco being off or on. Turn off Eco mode if smoothness and responsiveness is more important to you. For me, I'll turn it off when I get into town with more traffic, in the suburbs I'll leave it on.
I like the 4 cly engine for service and maintenance reasons, I like the way it sounds operates more than the V6. the V6 is bogged down more with lower shift points and slower down shifts. The V6 is still way faster, of corse. The 4 has more than enough power for me. (AWD might be a different story)
About The seats. I think I'm used to them now but, the back makes you slouch (thats how every one sits any way though, right?) the bottom cushion, I would have preferred a little more.. flat. It's Ok though.
The radio and entertainment system on this vehicle is Really high end! A aftermarket radio like this one has would cost a few thousand dollars. It also uses advanced technology, like active noise canceling (like noise canceling headphones) Speakers are good enough....read morehide5 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Looks nice
- Cons
- The car is overweight, 4 cylinder gets bad gas mileage
Purchased As New
I like the car, but we should have probably opted for the V6. The Terrain could lose some weight, and it is just a rebadged Chevy like all other GMC trucks.

- Pros
- Big SUV feel, 6 cyl for me a must,so far great to drive
- Cons
- Why does gm cars have gas fill on different sides of the vehicles?
Purchased As New
The six cyl has a lot of go. Love the electronics on the car. ie: bluetooth to phone, Pandora etc. Not sure why this car came with Hanook tires as they are a foreign tire and GM is a US people owned company. I know there are a lot of foreign parts but tires? Are there no US tires?
