I bought a 2003 Yukon Denali XL in February. From the moment I test drove it I fell in love! The third row has storage at the feet, or you can clip the floor up to have extra leg room. You can fill it up with people and have plenty of cargo space in the back. You feel safe riding in it because it is so big. My kids loved it, they picked a different place to sit every time we'd get in it to go some where. The only drawback is on very long rides, the seats can get uncomfortable, but I'm sure that is with any seat. I tend not to stop too much when on road trips, I like to get to where I'm going with as few stops as possible. Amazingly decent gas mileage for the largeness and the V8 engine. I drove from central VA to Manteo NC on less than one tank of gas. The trip is a 6 hour drive. Unfortunately I was t-boned by a delivery truck last week that was about the size of a furniture stores delivery truck with a medium sized trailer on it's back end and it totaled my vehicle. I walked away with some whip lash and thankfully my children were not in the vehicle. However my truck held up fairly well to the large delivery truck. (The truck had no driver and had been left in neutral and it rolled down a hill and had picked up a bit of speed. My Denali was large enough that it slowed the truck down and I spun out into a 360 instead of being drug across four lanes of traffic,it then bounced off of my front end, the next vehicle it hit was at a slower speed thanks to the size of my vehicle.) I've tried to find another in my price range, but it has proven to be impossible. Apparenlty once people get these cars they don't give them up. Even the shop doing the assessment stated he just couldn't find used parts anywhere. My truck had some structural damage and aside from that over 12,000 in damages. I was really hoping it wasn't totaled. This vehicle has both the luxury you want and the ruggedness to go along with an SUV. The best of both worlds!...read morehide
