- NOTHING GOOD ABOUT YUKON!
- Major mechanical issues, GM cannot seem to fix problems.
Constantly in the shop, tech's not smart enough to fix. Transmission problems, major electrical only 38000 miles! We purchased the vehicle in May 2005 brand new, since then it has been in the shop 76 days. It has major electrical issues, such as doors unlocking and locking by themselves, sunroof that will not close or open sometimes, heated seats that do not work, back door that locks and unlocks opposite of other doors. The speedometer only works now and then. It has been aligned 9 times and been through 4 full sets of tires. The transmission has been replaced once. The battery has been replaced 5 times and alternator twice. We have been towed from the side of the road or parking lot due vehicle issues on more than a dozen times. We have had two yukon XL's before however our 2004 is the biggest lemon we have ever had. The two previous yukon XL's we had we found to be very good vehicles, however with this experience we will never purchase another GM product.
Note: In GM's attempt to resolve the issues we have had they have offered us $500 owner loyalty certificate towards the purchase of another GM vehicle, but really does that make up for 76 days of getting a ride to work, or having to make arrangements to get to work. Countless times of being late due having to get towed to a dealer because my NEW vehicle will not run. They want to give me 1% of the purchase price back to make this right?!?! To make things right they could just make a quality vehicle that doesn't have these issues, or perhaps even, when I take the vehicle in for service-fix the problem? Instead I hear "If the problem cannot be duplicated at the dealership, there is no problem" Trust me there is a problem-GM is going down hill over the last several years, and their profits are reflecting this....read morehide

- Ride excellent on long trips. Engine performance above average with a payload & mountain conditions
If you tow, haul people (especially kids -- plenty of room) and take long trips -- best vehicle all-round.
