Purchased As Used
Purchased this EX-L V6 5AT Midnight Black Coupe w/Black Leather interior with less than 33,000 miles on it in Sept., 2010 - and love it more than any of my past Accords ('86 4AT Hatchback, '92 LX 4AT sedan, '94 LX 4AT sedan, and '98 EX-L V6 4AT sedan), each of which has had in excess of 200,000 trouble-free miles accumulated on them. Honda just keeps getting better (just when you think this isn't possible!) with each new 'generation'. This one is my second 3.0 liter VTEC V6 - and by far, the best performer (244 hp instead of 200 hp) of any - floor it, and you get that pleasant VTEC 'low roar' as you're rocketed to 60 mph in just under 6.0 seconds! The ride, while being stiffer than others, certainly rewards one with a 'sport' feel - I added wheels from an '09 EX-L V6 Coupe ('Premium' 18-inchers) and Michelin PS2 235/40 18ZR 'low-profile sport' tires; everywhere I take this vehicle, it gets compliments on how 'aggressive' it looks.and again, thanks to its VTEC 3.0 liter V6, it puts its 'money' where its 'mouth' is performance-wise. Corners like its on rails, has very agressive traction and almost no body roll or torque steer present. Reminds me of the 'muscle' cars of the late '60's - it leaves most in the dust. It abounds with top-notch luxury features - you're not left wanting for anything. XM radio optional service is top-notch on long trips in unfamiliar areas - the music you enjoy isn't interrupted. No vehicle at any price can compare with Honda's ergonomics - everything is in exactly the right spot; the switchgear has that solid feel Hondas are known for, as does the body/panel build - no wind noise, 'squeaks', or rattles at any speed. The silence of the engine at speed is like silk - smooth and elegant; the transmission's performance duplicates that - barely noticable shift points and extremely quiet throughout its range, selecting the right gearing for the right situation. Fuel economy has been good - slightly better than my '98 V6 - overall just over 25 mpg, low of 19 mpg in-town, as high as 32 mpg on straightaways w/cruise control set at 75 mph. Only real 'issue' is rear-seat entry - best if you're double-jointed - typical of all coupes, however - but the style of this one (certainly less 'bread-and-butter' in appearance than its 'sister', the Sedan) is a real 'stand-out' - has the look and feel of certain German-titled vehicles costing thousands more - and none better than this one! Reliability and durability are non-issues when the nameplate says 'Honda', with over 35 years to its credit under the 'Accord' brand. As for its resale, I've often said that one doesn't 'buy' a Honda Accord - instead, one 'invests' in one - for the record, no other nameplate retains more of its initial purchase price than an Accord does (the 'downside' being that in comparison, Accords can be expensive used cars from that standpoint). According to a recent independent study, based on content, no nameplate sold in this Country is more of an 'American' vehicle than is a Honda Accord - proof positive that American autoworkers can produce a world-class high-quality automobile when given the incentive and the opportunity with the training to do so. As you can tell, I look forward to many more years of trouble-free pleasurable driving with this Accord underneath me. As has been my experience in the past with this brand, I'd unconditionally recommend this vehicle to all who seek value, dependability, reliability, style, luxury, and economy as a combination - things you'll not see as a total in any other package....read morehide

- Stylish, Economical, Comfortable - powerful with V6, yet gets 20-28mpg overall.
- Horrible dealership experience, Trunk is small, Transmission console selector not lit.
I'm very happy with my 2006 Honda Accord V6-Automatic. It came equipped with everything but a Navigation system for a reasonable price. Definitely more sporty than a Camry/Solara, and in coupe form, you don't see them on every corner like you do with Camry.
The build quality of this car is substantially better than what you get in the like-priced competition.
Unfortunately, the post-sale experience with Rick Case Honda was absolutely horrible. I had to go to Honda Customer Relations who stepped up and took care of me. This is definitely not my last Honda, but it IS the last one I will purchase from Rick Case Honda, that is for sure!...read morehide

- Brakes, Road noise
Great car overall. I highly recommend it. I love the stiff feel on drive unlike Toyota Camrys or Solaras.

- Lots of power, sporty feel, sporty appearace, 6 airbags, Honda quality!!!
- Not a smooth ride. Has a few blind spots.
This car was a replacement for a 2004 Camry that was rear-ended and totaled. The Accord Coupe's sporty appearance and strong V-6 power are even better than my initial impressions. The transmission shifts smooth as silk! 6 airbags make it a really safe coupe. Because of the sportier suspension it doesn't ride as smooth as the Camry and the seats arent quite as comfortable. The V-6 drops the gas mileage to around an average of 27. Moving from the Camry sedan to this coupe leaves me wishing for a little better vision when backing too. We got the sport wing on the back, which gives it an older Prelude appeal.
Overall, I would say this is an exceptional value and I will definitely own another Accord....read morehide

- good looking car, ride is smooth, good gas mileage
- too much rattle noise and paint chips easily
I've had my car for only 3 months now and the rattle noise in the doors and windows is enough to drive someone insane! It makes me very disappointed to know that I paid almost 30 grand for a car that sounds like its falling apart. I have to blare up my radio just to block out the rattles. But other than that....I love everything else about it....read morehide

- good performnce, reliable, well equiped, ggod value
- not enough headroom for taller people, less fuels efficient than advertised
This is the second Honda Accord that I have owned. Obviously I was satisfied enough with the first to cause me to purchase a second one. This time I purchased a V-6. The performance of the V-6 is better. Also, I enjoy the comfort of the leaather seats. The vehicle is very reliable. It is also well-equiped and accessories are made to last. I am generally satisfied with my 2005 V-6 Accord Coupe, however I have three complaints. First, I do not find the front seats roomy enougn. This is especially evident when I use the electric seat control to make my seat higher--I run out of headroom. Second, the vehicle is not as fuel efficient as advertised. Finally, I have difficult checking my blindspots due to the dymaics of the vehicles buid. Hopeful, Honda will make efforts to improve these things. regardless, I plan to continue purchasing Hondas in the future, as the stregths outweigh the weaknesses...read morehide

- Beautiful car, lots of power, Honda reliability
- Access to back seat is not easy
I test drove this car today and was very impressed. I heard no creaks or rattles, there was absolutely no torque steer at all, and the seats were comfortable for me (6ft. 200 lbs.). I was impressed with the dealership in Clearlake, there was no presssure at all. I have a few more cars on my list to test drive before I make up my mind, but this could very well be the one....read morehide

- Looks great the back, almost acceptable interior design
- Seats too tight, low headroom, rattles and creaks
I expected a comfortable two-door coupe for 1-2 people. Only kids fit in the back. Low head room. This car was not a comfortable ride if you are a six-footer.
Nothing annoyed me more than buzzing and rattling interior panels...with or without the radio on. Torque-steer was rather bad, breaks did grab, windshield washer sprays over the roof and not on the glass.
It did move out when you hammer down on the gas, but as with all cars, the MPG claim was about 25% overstated.
If you can live with these things, the Honda Accord Coupe is a sexy little car, perfect for a new driver but disappointing to drivers who expect that Honda reputation of quality and value to translate into this coupe....read morehide

- Fuel economy for a V6, interior quality and appearance, power band.
- shaking while idleing, interior rattles after 10k miles, torque comes in late.
I love the car because its a Honda, but i have had a few issues that were not expected from this car. Rattles are present at just 10k miles; which the dealership can not resolve, it just recently started shaking while at an intersection which kinda worried me, stereo should be more powerfull for the EX trim option, currently at 20k miles now and the engine is feeling EXTREMELY different-it begun the shift harshly and felt a lost of power, this all just started happening about 3 weeks ago. Overall i want to believe its a good car, but honda needs to resolve these issues. I WOULD recommend this car, but you should purchase the extended warranty which i did not but now regret....read morehide
