Pros Great MPG, large interior with plenty of headroom, nice standard features
Cons CVT very clunky, Driver's seat awful, Horrendous paint quality
Purchased as New
I bought the LX CVT new last fall for just under invoice price, felt like it was a fair deal, not a great deal, but buying the next years model you can't expect a great deal. So I've had the car for 8 months, and on the good side, it gets really fantastic gas mileage, easily cracks 40 mpg highway at 65 mph, and maintains 30 mpg in modest city driving. It also has lots of headroom and a large interior space, though the legroom is certainly lacking if you are over 6' as I am, so it can be a real challenge on long trips. The LX, despite being entry level, has a very good compliment of standard features including the neat, though somewhat gimmicky, backup camera. On the bad side, the CVT, which is new for the Accord Sedan, leaves quite a bit to be desired, especially if you do a lot of city driving. You can often feel it searching for a "gear", what most people call judder, especially speeds less than 40 mph. There is also an issue with this model when putting the car into reverse on a cold start (like to back out of a garage first thing in the morning), where it doesn't move at all! Some call this a sleepy reverse since it takes 5-10 seconds for the car to wake up and engage the transmission and reverse (though some folks on the Honda forum say they actually have to turn the car off completely and restart to get it to work, but I haven't had that problem... not yet anyways). The driver's seat is quite uncomfortable, it's on the hard side and rather short so it doesn't support your thigh, which becomes irritating on anything but very short trips. And as noted above, if you exceed 6' tall, you'll be challenged to find room for your legs and your spare foot. And one of the worst things I've found with this car is the paint is horribly soft, so that any road debris or small stone will almost certainly knock a piece of paint off your front bumper or hood (mine has about a dozen chips in just 8 months!). A lot of people add Clear Bra to their front end, but that'll cost you several hundred, so factor that into your budget. Other things to note: glove box does not have a light (why oh why?); some drivers have noticed significant wind noise from the B pillar (mine doesn't do this but I think I'm just lucky, there is a TSB fix for this however, though some say it doesn't completely fix the issue, just improves it somewhat); some owners have had their A/C system broken by stones getting into their condenser, this happens because the front grill has very large spaces in it, large enough for 1/2" stones to bounce up and smash the radiator, leading to a $700 radiator/AC repair bill not covered by the extended warranty. A good place to search and read on the Accord is on driveaccord dot net under 9th generation (2013) Accord, you'll see a good discussion of what new owners are dealing with, and what they like and don't like. Cheers!...MoreHide

Pros Well built and stylish
Cons None so far
Purchased as New
Honda stepped up to the plate and came up with a home run.
For the money you would be hard pressed to find a better car.
I have had Audi's and BMW's and the quality of this car comes really close, but for 20K less you have nothing to complain about. I am on the road most of the time so the navigation was worth the price. You could drive this car for five years and when you go to sell it they will be standing in line to buy it. Great value for the money. Long lasting and it will hold its value over time....MoreHide

Pros Best Accord so far
Cons None
Purchased as New
Brought the accord new 3 days ago to replace my 2005 BMW 330xi. So far I think the accord is prefect. It comes with a little more features then the base LX. The main reason why i brought the EX was because of the lane departure warning camera, the smart key and the key less start. Also I got a good trade in price for my BMW....MoreHide
