2006 Honda Accord Sedan
There are 19 user reviews for the LX 5-Spd AT trim shown below
- nice handling, good fuel economy, nice looks, lots of room inside, huge trunk space.
- interior looks cheap, seats feel very uncomfortable, lack of rear air vents
I have 2 Hondas, 1 is 1993 Civic hatchback DX(i love this car) and other one 2003 Honda Accord LX. Both are automatic. Performance of Accord is excellent, only lack some interior features like air vents for rear seats, cheap looking interior, uncomfortable seats(not good for long drives). In case of interior my EG is much better than Accord. But overall both HONDAS are BEST. "I LOVE MY HONDAS."...read morehide

- Handling(drive like a civic), appearance, fuel economy, and Oh! don't forget that i-VTECH
- It can be even better to come with alloy rims
The Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry are the best sedan in this class. They are both reliable and very well designed. Camry has better ride comfort and quietness, but it's bad on handling and lack of
characteristics. the Honda Accord is very well rounded. It may not be the best on everything but nothing is worse than others. That's why it's call the car of real drivers....read morehide

- Good fuel economy, ABS comes standard. 5 speed Auto transmission with enhanced technology.
- Vibration. Brake Pades wear out quick.
Before purchasing the Accord, I test drove the new Camry as well as the new Altima. In comparison, the Accord is a better car to drive. I am very happy with the good fuel economy, responsive engine and the enhanced gear box technology, i.e. gears do not unnecessary shift as is the case with all other automatic models.I had a problem with vibration. The dealer balanced the wheels and the situation improved slightly. 2 weeks later, I decided to replace the factory wheels with brand new Honda Alloy wheels. There was further improvement, however, the problem still persists.
Otherwise, I am pretty happy with my Accord....read morehide

- good fuel economy...my best ..30city 39 highway 4 cylinder
- steering is a little vague ..other that that SUPER
Super ride , excellent gas milage....if you drive gently!! I thought Iwould be a little underpowered with the 4 cylinder....no way. VERY smooth for a 4. Fooled many people by telling at first it is a 6cylinder.

- Smooth ride, great mpg, amazing power for a 4-cylinder
- Not many
Negative posts here are either pranksters or whacko's with an axe to grind against a Honda sales rep or mechanic.
Our 2006 Honda SE was a fantastic purchase. Almost 8,000 miles and the car is quiet, solid and performing like a champ. Roof pillar visibility is a bit blocked by the side curtain airbags and the windshield line is a bit low, but these are minor complaints.
This is our 3rd Honda and they never fail to deliver....read morehide

- Resale vale
- Transmission, Build Quality
This is by far the worst car I have owned during last 40 years. I would definately put Honda behind all US maufactures in build and quality. Considering the price difference it would be foolish to buy Honda.
The transmission lag is most annoying and brakes are soooooo bad.

- Great exterior/interior redesign, Very Good MPG, Fun to Drive
- Limited interior color choices
This is my 4th Civic. I bought an '82, a '90, and a '97 and got 200K miles out of each of them. If you follow the basic care guidelines and try not driive like a Nascar driver, these cars will not die!
I bought an '06 because of the re design and the great reviews. I have noted in some submissions that it was tough to get a discount. I bought the Consumer Reports package, did my research and got very close to my goal price ($16500). Here's a tip, go in at the end of the month when sales folks have to meet quota. Better yet go near the end of the model year. Be polite an realize the salesman has to make a living too, and you will probably do fine. Taking care of your present car to max trade in value helps.
As to the car itself, I bought the LX when I found the difference between the LX and EX was you get a sunroof, a navigation system, and some minor upgrades with the EX. If you can do without those items, you will get everything you need with the LX.
I bought civics for the great mileage. The mileage on my new one is not as great as my others. The caveat is that this a redesign with a ballsier engine, so you have to take that into consideration. In the first couple of weeks, I was dismayed to get 25-28 MPG, but then realized I was doing short drives in city conditions, with the A/C blasting. I took it out for a stirct Highway run and got 49 MPG. I have found that by not blasting and not driving like a one of the Dukes of Hazard, that my mileage has fallen in the 36-38 MPG range which is terrific. If the sticker says 30/city 40 /highway, I think if you get 35, you are doing fine.
Unlike some folks, I do not find the new dashboard hard to read. I will admit the digital readout took some getting used to. My wife has an 02 Civic and when I drive it, I am amazed by how roomy the new model is. The exterior is very handsome, and while I have not figured out how to judge comfort in the other seats while I am driving, my passengers (family) have said it is very comfortable.
Once I figured out how to get the best mileage, I have zero complaints about my new LX. I foresee hitting the 200,000 mielage club with this one and will probably be checking in here with my feedback on the 2015 civic I just bought! :)...read morehide

- Durable, greta on fuel.
- Serious issues with brakes, warped brake rotors on new 05 car
Owned 03 and 05 models. Except for brake issues on both 03 and 05 years excellent car. Dealer would not back up the warped rotors when bought back with 13k miles. Dealer would not back up Hona Motor reputation for quality.

- good fuel economy, resale value.good fit and finish
- only 757 miles none so far
Compared the camry and the honda accord,07 Camry was equally impressive and actually had more features for about the same money.Decided to go with the accord based on honda reputation and previous reliability and the Honda dealer made us a better overall deal.Purchased from ebersole auto in lebanon pa.and the sales rep was very easy to work with and she was very knowledgeable. Our exsperience with the dealership was very favorable throughout the sales process.I would highly recommend the accord and ebersole honda....read morehide
