- I don't trust anyone but the dealership to work on my honda. Honda Tech is advanced.
This review is to help people who are considering buying an accord. I bought a brand new 2004 accord lx two years ago. I like the new ones but don't own one. Here is what you can expect based on recent past performance of an accord, keep in mind I have 62,000 miles in 2 years. I drive for a living with my accord!
I have a ton to say. My car today runs like brand new. Acceleration of my V6 is still smooth, quiet, and very responsive. I often drive at least 4 hours a day and my back or legs never hurt. Ergonomics are EXCELLENT with accords!
Look at Honda as a whole and you will see: The first company to make a hybrid. The first company to make a mainstream hybrid (accord). Prius was not a mainstream car but came out before the accord but not the insight. Honda has been a best buy on consumer reports for a long time and has been a car and driver best for WELL OVER A DECADE.
Honda never made trucks until recently. Guess what? It took them one year to make the best truck in it's class. Period. Honda does not compare itself in commercials to other cars. Does Chevy, Ford, Hyundai, etc. compare to accords? Answer: YES!
The accord has been very good to me. I've owned it for two years and have not once regretted the purchase. Do you know why accords have a great resale value? Hmmm... besides quality, besides longevity, besides great ratings, newer accords become more expensive.
Example: GM is planning on droppiing new models to all time lowest prices. Guess what happens to the older models? They drop in value also.
I can't help but bash american vehicles because look at the two biggest companies. Ford and GM. Now, tell me about their massive layoffs. Tell me about their quality. Their debt. Their history. Their future. I'll stop myself now.
I just hate when people give two sentence explanations why you should or should not buy a car.
The accord may seem a little pricey, but go ahead buy another car for a few thousand dollars cheaper and see if it lasts as long. See if it is as comfortable, quiet, technologically advanced, resells well, etc.
What have I had done to my accord in 62,000 miles? New brakes, oil changes, air filter, wipers, just got new tires cause I am a hard driver, and maintenance checks. That's it.
If I accelerate hard not only do I move fast but the engine noise is phenomenly quiet. I have never owned a car that matches speed with low noise as impressively as this. For the record, I have owned a Regal (82), Charger (87), Tempo (89), and Berreta (96). I drove many other vehicles along the way and none could hold a candle to my accord.
I own the sedan. The back seat area has a lot of room, even if you have the front seat all the way pushed back. It's the first thing people notice when sitting in the back for the first time.
