- good gas milage, passing power reliable
- brakes pop, small for a family of 4, trade in value not what Honda claims
I bought the accord VP in january of 06 in California, and drove it to Houston in July of 06 I have had no mechanical problems besides for the brekes "popping", i have been told by honda techs in CA and in TX that the noise is regular. Why that would be regular i have no idea why the engineers wouldn tackle that issue. but other than that its a Excellent car for the price....read morehide

- Comfortable leg space
- Brakes squeaked in 1st month of purchase
I bougth this Accord for more leg room. But the brakes and the engine noise are really not good. Honda should not make such inferior quality parts. If its competing with Toyota and other Japanese brands than the quality should not be sacrificed. After these initial quality problems I am seriously thinking about switching over to TOYOTA. Honda needs to improve on the sales and service too. Its so expensive to service these Jap cars. The service guys keep on calling to add extra service charges while the car is getting serviced. Since you want the best service you end up giving him the nod to go ahead. But why doesn't Honda stop all these service center from reaping the customers of their money....read morehide

- Excellent 4 cylinder engine and M/T, solid chassis, spacious interior, sporty handling
- Suspension lets you feel every road irregularity, road noise, non-linearity in steering response
I purchase a 2006 VP sedan with M/T. Overall it is a fun car to drive, moves well considering this is a 3100 lb car with a 2.4 four cylinder engine. You have to get use to how silent the engine is. I found myself several times changing gears at 5,500 rpm. The car is spacious and comfortable, and at the same time has a sporty feel. Driving strictly in bumper to bumper city traffic, with A/C on, you get 20-21 miles/gallon. But in highway driving it will go above 30 miles/gallon. The difference is really noticeable. Honda's have a great resale value and a good reputation for being durable, will see, so far (4,000 miles) so good.
Excellent four cylinder engine, powerful, quiet, revs without effort, it is really a jewel. Good chassis with a solid feel. Precise and buttery manual transmission. Comfortable and spacious interior with good ergonomics. Sporty handling without a punishing ride. Nice exterior styling (not much improved over previous year) and good trunk space. Very good resale value.
CONS (NEED TO IMPROVE):
Suspension lets you feel every irregularity or bump on the road. At highway speeds road noise is higher than expected. There is non-linearity in the steering response and the steering feel is too light for my taste. At times you can feel some engine vibration through the steering wheel. Under certain road conditions there is some resonance coming from the passenger front door or window that can be annoying. The quality of interior hard plastics is a bit disappointing....read morehide

- Honda simply has a great quality product, ecellent fuel economy, roomy inside and a quiet ride.
I purchased a 2006 Accord VP a week ago and I'm glad I made that choice!! I went to the dealer wanting to buy a Civic and found that the Accord VP automatic is the overall best vehicle for the money period. The car rides smooth, quiet and has plenty of passing power. I will be a Honda customer forever....read morehide

- No rear speakers on VP model-no big deal
A well built mid size car with Auto transmission, Cruise control, Power windows, Power locks with keyless entry, side impact airbags, ABS, CD player for under $20,000? How can you go wrong with this VP model?, this car gives you only features and convienience that you really want and will actually use, without all the useless gizmos that you'll use only on occasion. Pound for pound the best value out there. Go out and get one! Thanks for a great car Honda......read morehide

- comfort and good value
- Need to re-design brake and suspension
I think that Honda quality is going down. I used to have a 95 civic and I drove it for 5 years (80K) without any problem. I just bought this 2006 Accord and loved it for the first 500 miles. After the first 500 miles, the front brakes were making noise and I bought it back to Dealers and one of them could not find any problem. the noise was getting louder and I just brought it to another dealer and they found that the right front-brake rotor warped. They re-surfaced it for me, the noise was gone but I was SHOCKED since my car had around 800 miles on it. But, it was very cool in New England last several weeks ~20-30 degree. I guess that the brake rotors could not handle cold weather. Now, I had a suspension noise and it creaks over every bump. Need to bring it back to Dealer again.
3 trips to dealers for 800 miles. It is getting too much!!!...read morehide
