- Good fuel economy for V6, Good acceleration, good safety features, decent entertainment system,
- overly sensitive brakes, jerking in the first gear, unexpected road noises, comfort is mediocre
My mom bought this car for me on my birthday in June. It has over 6,300 miles on it now. Perhaps i have worn the car in, but the acceleration has dropped a bit and the engine is starting to make sounds when it's idling. The brakes are still too sensitive, and the mediocre suspension worsens the ride experience. I was surprised why Honda did not attempt to fix the road noises which was also a problem for their previous models, e.g 1992/1996/1998. The price tag for this car is definitely too high, many people opt out of buying the all-mighty v6 because of it's whopping price tag of $25,600- and it's no where near luxury quality. For another 5,000 i could have gotten a BMW 3-series. Honda gravitated to the safety of the front of the vehicle and totally forgot the rear end - there has been many incidents of rear endings of this generation of Accords which has resulted in fatal injuries or even death. This morning when i was driving back home, i tapped on my brakes on a bumpy road and my tires slid, the traction control did not sensor it, nor did the Vehicle Skid Assist (I wonder if any of these "safety" features actually help, or even exist in the vehicle) I dont understand the purpose of the day time running lights, they seem to be draining the life out of the fog lights. Overall, the 2006/2007 Honda Accord is a big dissapointment with it's slightly revamped features and it's obvious flaws left unabated.
