i've had this car for 3 months/ 4k miles and overall car has been pretty good. i've owned accords before and this is large improvement on where they've came from but i think theres room for improvement. i planned on keeping the accord for a long time so i got everything i could possibly get in an accord. leather V6 w/ nav.
drive...the V6 is peppy with plenty of power but sadly its horrible on gas mileage. i average 20-21 mpg babying it with mixed highway and country back roads. even on highway trips mileage is not as great as it should be with the VCM. the road noise is noticable on the highway and can be somewhat annoying i realize this is no Lexus but road noise will be something i look into before buying my next set of tires. my car must have sat on the lot for a while and had a vibration that was cause by a flat spot in the tires. this eventually corrected itself. its still early but i havent had any problems with the brakes. dealer said it was only on the 08-09 models and 2010 should not have the issue. hmmm.
the interior.. interior is pretty but the seats are a little hard and the lumbar adjustment to me is pretty much useless because even in its lowest setting its too much for my back. i have the gray leather which is nice at first but gets dirty very fast. if you wear dark jeans, the color will rub off on the seats. i hear this is true with the tan seats too. i've tried to find oem seat covers for the atleast my seat since i drive alone alot but they're isn't an oem cover available. the "metal"-ish trim in the cabin looks good now but looks like it could become a wear problem later especially on parts you touch often like door handles, shifter and steerling wheel. a/c fan controls are placed on seperate sides of the dash control panel, ie fan on/ off is on driver side and fan speed is on pass side... why??? lastly there is no light in glove box... i dont think i've seen an accord glove box without a light since early 90's.
features... the nav is nice but nothing a garmin can't do. ..i just didnt want a cable hanging across my dash filling my cig lighter all the time so i opt'ed for the nav. my neighborhood is 5 years old and still not in the honda map. i wish the handsfree displayed names on the caller i.d. instead of just the phone number. the voice command is too time consuming and should be faster but once in use is nice feature. the steering wheel should have a mute button with the volume control. there should have been a usb/ ipod hook up and reader, not just a headphone jack. its 2010 ipods are everywhere.
outside... overall style is great. its a nice size and has a high end look but could use some more high end exterior features. for one, HID/xenon headlights. why not even make them an option. side markers or rear view mirrors with built in turn signals would have been a good fit for it. also why no LED taillights? they were standard on 06-07. taillights on the trunk lid came on the japanese models and were a great look but not available in the states. why?
overall.. i know i pointed out alot of short comings i find with my accord but really i do like it. im a loyal honda buyer and didnt want to stray from the brand. im hoping that long term reliability will prove to be the reason why i bought this car. the car is very nice from what accords and used to be and i think alot of reviewers may be comparing it to much higher end autos. the road noise and attention to quality of some parts should be addressed for future models, yes. but bang for the buck i think it was just what it needed to be.
