I went from a Acura RL which was awsome (except only 23mpg) reason for selling. The Accord gets a real 34mpg. Rides even better and more room than the Acura. The wife loves it! Happy wife=happy husband!

- Worst Car I've Ever Owned
Purchased As New
I hate my new Honda Accord. I've always purchased Toyota's and I wish I had stuck with Toyota. My Honda is the worst car I have ever owned. My gas tank started leaking on my new $35,000 car and Honda wouldn't fix it -- they said it was "rodent" damage. I guess you can't park your car anywhere because there are "rodents" everywhere. Talk about the Ford Pinto gas tank fiasco all over again. If you are thinking about buying a Honda, don't!!! Get a Toyota. I've had 4 Toyota's and never had a problem and I got over 250,000 miles on all of them -- I didn't have 20,000 miles on my Honda before I started to have problems. I hate Honda!!!!! I wish I felt better after whining about my car, but I don't. Thanks for letting me vent :)...read morehide

- The most uncomfortable car
Purchased As New
I purchased this ‘09 Accord new after having a terrible experience with a Dodge Intrepid. I decided I will never buy an American brand.
Since I first test drive this car I felt that something is wrong with it. Extremely rigid and uncomfortable. The dealer tried to explain to me that you would feel way better after a long trip driving an Accord compared to any other car. BS. The seats are hard, the armrests are placed to low, and it rides like not having shocks at all.
Some will try to explain to you that this is a kind of a sports suspension. It will dislocate your kidneys.
I have 46k miles on the car right now and I am seriously looking to trade it in. The gas mileage is terrible and that because the engine runs on extreme high RPM. The brake lamp started to rattle terribly after the first 5k miles, they had to take apart the whole back dock to fix it. On a bumpy road it still rattles. The steering column started to clunk about the same time. The dealer told me that they greased some coupling and the clunk noise should stop but that was not the case. Not to mention the well known issue with the rear brake pads.
This car is a clunker. Don’t ever buy it....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

I have the EX-L and this is the best car I have ever owned! I have had Audi's, Volvo's, Dodge's, Chevy's, Chrysler's and this blows them all out of the water! This car is so comfortable, the heated seats heat evenly and a super comfy plus the power seats allow you to adjust them perfectly. The interior fit and finish is excellent and the instrument cluster looks great. There is tons of room in the back seat, I have two kids car seats back there and there is still heaps of room. The trunk is huge with a good size opening. This car handles great and it quiet, the motor makes good power for it's size and still delivers great fuel economy. Honda takes great care of its customers with $19 synthetic oil changes for life (I can't do it myself for that!) Our next car will be a Honda and I will never own another vehicle, great resale value and actually manufactured in the USA! What I don't understand is those people who claim this car is uncomfortable......why did you buy it then???? did you not test drive it before you bought it??...read morehide

First of all I would never question or the quality of Japanese vehicles over any American or Korean made auto. I rented a Sonata for 30 days and traveled around the US. The Sonata was a smooth ride however, when you close the doors you feel how flimsy the doors are unlike a Toyota or a Honda. I also tested a Camry and of course Toyota quality is unquestionable no matter how many re calls anyone cares to mention. When yo visit countries like Philippines, Afghanistan, India, or South America and see very old models of Honda or Toyota withstanding extremely damaged roads and weather. The difference however is set once you see interiors of the Honda compared to all the other vehicles and while traveling long distances with these vehicles. Honda is the king of the road when it comes to leg space and gas mileage....read morehide

- Overpriced,Low Fuel Economy,Cheap Appearance

Before you buy do your research, the web is full of complaints from actual owners. The fuel economy of this car does not even come close to what Honda tells the consumer. 23Cty/34Hwy,I have a 4 cylinder and drive 135 miles per day, 95% highway at 60-75 mph, this gets a fuel economy between 26-27 miles per gallon driven in normal area, no mountains. The car has an issue with the fuel tank, when filled more than half you hear fuel splashing in the back giving the appearance of having a defective waterbed in the trunk.Dealer says no fix for this! Car also has issues with hydroplaning starting above 55 mph and normal rain.
Driver seat lumbar on right side defective forces you to adjust seat on a constant basis in order to remain halfway comfortable. Also premature wear on rear brake pads!
In regards to cheap appearance,on the trunk hatch what seems to be additional light support for brakes and stretches from left & right to license plate is fake,no lighting function at all.I owned Honda's before and those were really great cars,
this car is a disaster and Honda won't accept responsibility for problems associated with it, guaranteed the last Honda purchased. Let this be a warning, do your research!...read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

We leased this car back in February and are impressed with it's great combination of quality control, fit & finish, and reliability. The Celestial Blue Metallic paint is nothing short of exceptional. We have owned 10 Honda's and 1 Acura over the years and have never been disappointed.

With front wheels double wishbone and rear wheels multi-link suspensions, the Honda Accord gives you a great stability. 110 inches of wheelbase provides more than enough legrooms. Interior has luxurious feel, and the seats are supportive and comfortable. I drove a 2007 couple years ago, and I love the 2011 one far better....read morehide

Honda seemed to be most consistent when it comes to their sedans. My family previously purchased an 89 Accord and it stayed strong for 150K+ miles.
Looking for a new car we settled with an another Accord for the oldest daughter in the family to drive and learn stick with.
I, as a son in the family thought we should have shopped around a little bit more due to the fact that many of the Korean and American auto makers are starting to get ahead. But unfortunately, the oldest daughter in the family LOVES Hondas and wouldn't consider anything else.
So it was final, we bought an MT LX model.
You may wonder why I said, unfortunately.
It is unfortunate because Honda is starting to get behind.
The 2011 Accord is a refresh of the 2008-2010 model, so nothing is really new except improved fuel economy.
But compared to the competition, Kia's Optima, the competition seems to have the best bang for the buck.
The Accord sedans doesn't have a 6 speed standard. In fact they don't even offer a 6 speed trans unless you opt for the new Accord Coupe which is only available on the V6 model.
But the Sonota and Optima does have a 6 speed standard on all their models which improves fuel economy.
The 177 hp is a bit under powered, I would have liked to see Honda offer the 190hp standard for all their 4 cylinders and not just their base models.
Now, I'm just compared base models, the Accord LX vs Sonotas GLS is no match when it comes to fuel efficiency to power ratio.
177hp 5sp (23/33 mpg) vs 198 hp 6sp (24/35 mpg)
The fact that the Sonata offers better fuel economy, and more power (whether it is the 177hp Accord or the 190hp) Hyundai is still ahead.
The numbers are almost similar between the Sonata and Kia's Optima.
Long story short, don't just look at the Honda dealerships, go to all of the competitor dealerships and check them all out....read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.
