- Transmission is a little rough when it changes gears.
I have only had my new civic for a couple of weeks but it's a great car. The fuel economy is amazing, as the reason for purchasing and I am very impressed by the safety features that have been included. Even though it has a little engine, it has no trouble going and getting there.
Very fun to drive as it has the feel of a little sports car. Would recommend to anyone looking for an economy car for you get a lot of bang for your buck.

- Extrerior Styling, reputation for reliability, projected resale value
- Adequate engine, Odd instrumentation, seats
Tested a Civic DG-G. my main requirement were Air and Automatic. Also I look at the basic vehicle first (Enfine .tranny, seating, ride etc) before nice to have like MP3, Power this and that and alike.
In this confugaration the Civic was priced on par with an equivalent competitor including Hyundai. That was a nice suprise.
Power was no better that others. Unfortunatelly the split dash while an interesting styling cue, made me look up an down between the two. But the worst is that digital readout takes to much of your attention of the road. I'll admit that being at a higher level mitigates this buy why bother? Analog gauge doen't even have to be read, just gleaned at from you periferal vision to see if anything is astray.
This was not a deal breaker but the seats were. I'm glad I took it for a longuer drive, after about 20 minutes my back was sore and my wife complained that the seat cushion was too short to provide leg support. I'm about 6 feet tall, and the wife 5.6. remember: your millage may vary :-)...read morehide
