- Fuel Economy, style, reputation
I read the reviews posted here last weekend with some skepticism but i took it in consideration. When my deal for an 07 Mini fell through i looked to my second choice, Honda Civic. With gas now 4.55 in SF area i was motivated to change.
I traded in my 06 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner quad cab that got about 21mpg and got close to a deal on an 08 CPO with 5500 miles on it.
However i wasnt sure it would be a payoff since the civic doesn't have a mpg readout i was just hoping i would get at least the 35mpg advertised. Some others here posted mpg of 40ish so i was hopeful.
2 days in, mostly highway, some stop and go, 230 miles, 5.7gallons = 40.35...
However thats driving 55-60ish and neutral down hills.
I'm getting what i hoped for and i should recover what i had to put down in less than a year.
Not as nice as my 07 porsche, not as roomy as my 08 Sequoia, but at 500 miles a week commuting its just what i needed.
nav is nice, seats with alcantra type material are nice, door trim is not hard plastic which i like. It would be nice to have a power adapter in the back seat for my kids Nintendo DS and an auxillary jack in the armrest so i didn't have to have my ipod, power jack and wiring visible....read morehide

- Navi, fuel economy, space, comfortable ride, classy look
I also have '06 EX with Navi. It has been the best car! I still brag about my car even though it is now 2.5 years old (I got mine 2nd week after Opening Day ;-).
I have to kept telling myself "It is JUST a little Civic". It feels so roomy and ride so nice.. we call it the baby Cadillac.
Just drove this car down to Disney World from Detroit... a very comfortable ride and my mpg was a whopping 42.4 mpg, that is with the car loaded, 2 suitcases, a cooler, 3 canvas chairs, [and a bunch of other junk :-)] etc and 2 adults 1 child. We used the a/c, cruise control in the mountains and still got 42.6 mpg.. this is not the hybrid.
Everyone that I have recommended to test drive the car, actually bought one. Like I said to them, don't listen to me, test drive the car yourself.... it is free to test and you will fall in love with the Honda Civic yourself!...read morehide

- Fuel economy is GREAT! Style in and out is great, the navigation system is very useful and very nice
- Can't see the front of the car and good golve compartment space but not that good.
I bought my '08 civic coupe w/navi a week ago and I love it, the style looks beautiful, the ride is so smooth and it is pretty fast for the 4 cylinder engine. The fuel economy is also a great plus, sunroof, huge trunk space, and the navigation are all things I love about this civic. The navigation system is very understandable when it gives you directions and you will never get lost with it. The car is simple to figure out, has perfect handling, and it is a very fun car to drive. Recommended to anyone who wants to purchase....read morehide

- Excellent fuel economy, Navigation is very helpful, plenty of leg room, stylish.
I used to be a huge General Motors guy, but the 2008 Honda Civic has turned me into a Honda fan. The sound system is excellent and it provides a lot of extra pop. The car is futuristic on the interior and the exterior is very sporty and stylish.
And let's not forget. Honda is known for quality. The Civic is the #1 car on the market in reliability....read morehide

- Great fuel economy, Great Handling, Great Nav, Great Reliability, and on and on
- Space may be an issue for some, but if thats your problem you should have got an Accord.
I have had this car for two years, mine is an 06 EX with NAV. I have logged almost 100,000 miles and have not had any issues with the car. It is by far the best overall car I have ever owned or driven. If you don't have the need to drop tons of cash on your car purchases or leases I highly recommend this car. Its fun, easy, and cheap to drive. The interior has been called "futuristic" by more than one of my friends. The sound system is very good for a car in this price range. Oh, and anyone that makes any poor comments about the front two cup holders is insane, these should be the industry standard, these things hold any cup you can find or even the popular square water bottles that come from the islands....read morehide
