- Noisy interior. Fogs up more than any car I've owned. Handling is less-than-top drawer.
I am extremely disappointed in Honda's blatant misrepresentation of the true miles per gallon achievable for the 2006 Civic Hybrid. I was assured by the dealer that the EPA rating of 51/49 was achievable with light-footed driving. Instead, 6 months of driving reveals an average of 38 mpg (combined city and highway). A call to the service section of my Honda dealer resulted in the manager telling me that the service dept. was at odds with the sales dept. in being truthful about gas mileage. He also told me that mileage would improve significantly after a 10,000 mile engine break-in period. Subsequent conversations with other Civic Hybrid owners reveal there is no significant improvement after 10,000 miles. Get it right, Honda! Truth in advertising. If EPA's fuel efficiency testing method is inaccurate, tell your customers about it up front!!! A 25% discrepancy between advertised and achieved fuel efficiency is inexcusable.
