- Pros
- It's a Honda
- Cons
- Not nearly the gas mileage stated on the window sticker, feel every bump in the road..

I bought this car new 2 years ago and I am getting 27 mpg out of it. I don't have a heavy foot and also I am a driver that pays attention to how I use the gas. I am going to trade it for a Prius. I previously had the older generation Prius and got 51 mpg out of it. I made a bad mistake when I bought into this car....read morehide

- Pros
- fuel economy is average for class
- Cons
- seats are stiff, no floor mats includes. bad control locations. The car feels very cheap.
Purchased As New
I now have 24k on the car. The interior is extremely cheap and is all plastic. The controls for heat and other are all in just odd spots and distracting when trying to adjust. The clock is about an inch above the base of the cup holder, making it impossible to read. Just a silly layout. Really disappointing from previous models. Company car, and the other options next time are Chevy Cruze and the Ford focus, which other employees seem to favor....read morehide

Honda Civic had failing batteries so they programed the gas engine to take over the work. The mileage got worse and worse. Class action law suits now

- Pros
- Fuel ecomony
- Cons
- poor acceleration for highway speed, dangerous

We own a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid. It is ok for room considering the size. When you try to get on a highway good luck, it does not accerate fast enough. Very dangerous in my opinion.
Also, it is not as safe as you may think. That is why the insurance is high. A fender bender could very easily cost you your car.
Also we had to buy a new battery for the hybrid expect to pay thousands! Next time we will go with a Chevy Malibu. I don't expect to buy another hybrid, not after all the cash we shelled out....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Great car in 2008 before Honda recall
- Cons
- Unbearable after recall to "Reflash ECU"
Purchased As New
Loved this car until Honda reprogrammed it! When Honda realized that the battery packs would not make the 10 year warranty they changed the programing making the hybrid system almost useless! Fuel economy dropped from 40 mpg average to 34 mpg! Hybrid assist was only available a fraction of what it was before the reflash, resulting in high revving of engine to make it up grades or accelerate onto the freeway. When they first reprogrammed the car along with other service, the change was so dramatic and noticeable I returned the car the next day. After realizing that the reflash was the cause, I asked if they could change it back only to find it was not possible. If I had not leased this car I would have hired an attorney! Beware these cars no longer meet the mpg claims made! And all of these cars that are sold as used have been reprogrammed by the dealer....read morehide

- Pros
- GREAT GAS MILEAGE EXCEPT IN HOT SUMMER.
- Cons
- WHITE BUMPERS GET DAMAGED EASILY.
Purchased As New
I LOVE MY CAR, HOWEVER, IT'S HARD TO JUDGE WHEN PULLING UP TO A CURB. IF YOU DON'T STOP IN TIME IN WILL SCRAPE THE BOTTOM FRONT END UNDER THE CAR. ALSO, BLACK MARKS IN FRONT AND BACK BUMPERS FROM PEOPLE EITHER BACKING INTO YOU OR SOMEHOW THEY JUST SHOW UP FROM WHATEVER. I HAVEN'T TAKEN CAR IN FOR ESTIMATE BUT BOTH FRONT AND BACK BUMPERS ARE EASY TO GET MESSED UP. MUST BE VERY, VERY CAREFUL. iF YOU DON'T MESS THEM UP, SOMEONE ELSE WILL....read morehide

- Pros
- Roomy. Great for long trips, from CA to OR 51 Mpg. A/C always works great!!
- Cons
- A little slow on pick-up when the car is full. Insurance can be alot because of the name civic.

We have owned this car for 5 years and have had very little trouble with it. Make sure you insurance deductable is low for repairs like windshields that some glass repaiers will try to charge you $900 to $1100 for. Shop around and you can get them as low as 250 for a place you take it into or 325 to 400 for one that comes to you.
It is also very roomy, we have tall pepole in our household and can all fit with ease. You can also fit 3 large high back carseats in the back seat. I was not able to do that in our other car a chevy colbolt.
We also like that it has airbags all the way around, even by the back windshield, and back curtain and and side door airbags....read morehide3 out of 15 people found this review helpful.
