I purchased a 2005 honda civic special edition on Feb. 14, 2005.
So far I love the car. I drive a lot and it is realy good on gas.
The only big complaint I have is the way it acts when you accelerate. Like if I am at a red light and the light turns green and I go, the car will hesitate at first and then it makes a noise like I am trying to race people. I don't like that, but my little sister loves that noise (just to let you know it is not BAD, its just that I like things quiet). Also my other complaint is that the windows in the back do not go down all the way, but a lot of cars are doing that now for safety reasons.
There are a lot of things I like about the car. The height adjustment, the radio, moonroof, how fast the heater and AC works, trunk space, gas milage, seats, flat floor in back( No hump in floor), rims, spoiler, leather wraped steering wheel.
For you guys out there deciding what kinda car you want and you are doing research. I made a decision between either the corolla or civic. I chose the civic for a lot of reasons. First, almost everyone I know has a corolla. Corolla is a good car, but since I know so many people with one and has had the opportunity to drive around in one a lot (my boyfriends sister has a 2004 corolla), I know a lot about the car. But, my decision was still hard to make. Both cars are good on value, looks, performance, etc... And I have owned a 92 hoda accord, and I still own a 92 corolla. So, when it came down to it I decided on the civic because the value last longer, known for being an overall good car for many years. But, like I said both cars are good cars. When I did my research I noticed that a lot of people had problems choosing between the corolla and civic. So here is a summary of my OPINON.
PROS: good on gas, looks good, sits taller than the civic, diff styles to choose from, accelerates better than the civic
CONS: sometimes you will get a funky smell when you trun on the air or heat ( I have heard a lot of people complain about this, and experienced it myself when driving my boyfriends sisters corolla), another comlaint (which is silly but it is my complaint) is that a lot of people are getting corollas. I know a lot of people have civic's too but, it seems like the popularity of the corolla has recently increased so you have a lot of corollas (newer ones around). EX. I was at the red light once and I promise I seen like seven corollas drive by.
PROS: good on gas, looks, diff. types to choose from (ex. coupe, sedan), flat floor in backseat, holding value, hondas long history for being a good car, all the safety features (that come standard, you have to add on a lot of things to the corolla that come standard in the civic), a lot more
CONS: acceleration is kinda noisy, sits lower than corolla, back windows do not go all the way down( but that is most cars including the corolla). Hope that this will help in your decision. But just know that both cars are good cars and you can not go wrong with either one. Make your decision on your opion of the cars after you test drive both, and the price that you are willing to pay. Good luck. : )
