- handles well, lots of extras in the EX, 4 wheel disc brakes a positive
- head rests uncomfortable, poor milage, blind spots do to design
Had a manual 5 speed 94 Prizm got 30 - 33 mpg local driving. The 2006 Civic EX 4D AT can't break 26 mpg local.
Been back to dealer to reprogram the "chip". Runs better for half a tank then back to downshifting and searching for gears. Dealer's reply, "needs to break-in, will improve". Anybody else having this problem? Had an 81 Civic that got better milage!
Not happy....read morehide

- Styling, good fuel economy, fun to drive
- Price, rattling from front right
Have owned this car for 1 year. Had to have rear shocks replaced off of lot, center console replaced at 8 months (heater controls failed) and now I'm chasing the rattling in right front that plagues this model (traced to potential engine mount issues). I'm giving the local dealership the opportunity to fix this issue, but may trade off for something like Mazda 3. Quality is not what I would've expected from Honda. On the plus side...fuel ecomomy is great, and the car is a blast to drive with great room inside. I hope I can get it fixed to keep it but won't hesitate to get rid of it either. I hope this helps....read morehide

I've had my 2006 civic ex for over a year now no problems great very comfortable great handling on wet and dry surfaces taken on two long trips the first year has great fuel economy. Extremly like the dash setup and radio and cd player controls on the steering wheel. the cruse control is easy to use . the only thing did not really like is the interior color need more choices for interior colors...read morehide

- Great fuel economy, looks fabulous(inside and out), smooth, nav. system, great handling and safe
- Strange but not-so-significant noise when driving slow (1-20 mph), but that's about it.
I've had this car for a month and I still can't take my eyes off of it. It's fun to drive (especially with the navigation system), and you won't be seeing yourself at the gas station as often as you used to (unless of course you currently own a hybrid). Handling is superb. I was torn between this or the Toyota Yaris. With all the SUV's on the road, I kept safety in mind. Honda came with side airbags. Yaris only has front airbags (side airbags are optional, but they raise the price significantly).
With Honda's beauty, superb handling, and extra features, there was no question. So far I haven't had any regrets....read morehide

- Good get up and go
- gas mileage, no power seats
I bought this car because I thought that the difference between what I used to pay monthly for my old car and what I used to expend on gas combined would be the same as buying this so called "gas saving car," but I was dissapointed after a week driving it, IT DOES NOT GIVE YOU 30/40 miles per gallon , it would be more accurate 24/34. I hope somebody start a lawsuit against these people because they are deceiving all of us, making us think that their Japanise cars are better in gas mileage than American cars when thats not true. Viva America!...read morehide

- Auto transmission, ride quality, refined feeling, handsome exterior, equipment (EX)
- Excessive road noise on some types of rough pavement.
A great car and a huge improvement for the Civic line. This car has the smoothest shifting automatic transmission that reacts quickly to throtle inputs. A very smooth, and refined engine with adequate power. Fuel economy has been OK with averages of 27MPG to 32MPG with mostly city driving and the AC turned on, it should improve after the first oil change. The car has currently driven 3900 miles. The refined ride quality is that of a more expensive car. The cabin feels spacious. The two tier guages are not a gimmick, they really work. The addition of a 60/40 split folding rear seat on the EX is great. The front seats are also comfortable, although it did take me a little while to get used to the anti-whiplash headrests as they stick out forward a little bit. The car has an impressive amount of standard safety features- a strong selling point. A good quality car and a great looking one at that. This is one of the very few 4 door sedans to turn my head. Overall, a great car!...read morehide

- Love the styling, excellent mileage, comfortable and safe!
- Ride is sometimes bouncy, interior plastic scratches easily, not as trouble free as my past Hondas.
Overall, my wife and I love this Civic. We have had Hondas/Accords for the past 14 years and this Civic has not disappointed. I am surprised that the rear suspension gave us trouble - we heard a noise and had to have a rear shock replaced at 5000 miles. No big deal, but not the normal Honda quality I am used to. My 1993 Accord wagon has 147000 miles on it and still I have not changed the shocks! However, this car has been a real lifesaver with the gas prices being so crazy. I like the quality of the seats and overall build quality is excellent. Really, there are no complaints to speak of except that it could use a tiny bit more power and it doesn't quite ride the same as an Accord - then again, it ISN"T an Accord!! I think it handles incredibly well and has the best brakes I've ever experienced in an automobile. Overall, this was a great purchase and comes highly recommended after logging 13,000 miles on it in about 9 months....read morehide

- Excellent fuel economy, Good looking exterior, Smooth riding, Futuristic looking interior
- Lacks a little low end torque, Can't think of anything else.
This has been the first Honda I have ever purchased and I am extremely happy and impressed with the car. I bought this as a road car because I go from Lake City, FL to Richmond, VA every other weekend to spend time with my most beautiful fiance. I have put about 17,000 miles on the car since I bought it on May 20, 2006 and I have had no problems with the car whatsoever. I average between 38-42 mpg consistently and the car cruises very nicely at 80 mph up and down Interstate 95.
I am completely satifisfied with the car and would recommend this car to anyone. I get comments on the car everywhere I go. It is really a sharp looking car. I love the futuristic design of the car inside and out. A little bit more low end torque would be wanted, but not needed. The car runs as good as it did when I drove it off the lot.
I like the two-tier dashboard and the instrument panel controls are very easy to use with excellent ergonomics. One of the best parts about this car is that I got it for the same price as a Honda Fit. YOU CAN'T BEAT THAT!...read morehide
