- Good look, Safe, Great fuel economy
- hard to find colors desired, no power seats (front)
I had bought an 07 LX about 3 weeks ago and totalled it after two weeks of owning it. i swerved to miss a deer (should've hit it haha) but i rolled three times and walked away from it with a scratch and i soar knee for about a week. this car is incredibly safe and has great features to choose from. I now own a 08 EX and the seats are a lot more comfortable and the audio system is a lot better. I have never owned a civic before the 07 and i dout i will buy a different car for along time...great car....read morehide

- great style, safe, great MPG, solid ride, excellent resale and reliability
- No vanity lights in mirrors, pwr seats (front)
I've had the 07 Honda Civic Ex for over 10 months, I love how this car looks. There is nothing in its class that compares. Honda reputation and resale value for a civic can't be beat. I use this as my comuter car averaging 34-37 mpg. I wish the civic had an electric power front seat and light in the vanity mirrors. The interior is nicely put together. There are some blind spots in the front that you have to get use to. Especially the small side triangular windows near the frond wind screen.
I've checked out VW jetta, Corolla's, Hyunda elantra'sut nothing beat the civic. Also I didn't want to buy a car where the resale value greatly diminishes. That is probablly the number one reason I stayed away from the Hyundai's. Also the civic has an impressive safety rating. Buy it you won't regret it....read morehide

- Can't find any at the moment!
- Not reliable, rough ride, not so good MPG, uncomfortable seat
I bought this car in March 2007, and now this car give me a lot of headache, last month, my car suddenly stopped in the middle of the road, luckily no car were behind me, if not, I think wouldn't that lucky to sit here to write this review anymore. towed back to Honda and they told me one of the earth wire was not connected properly and resulted engine failure. After I got my car back, I still worry about this car and I'm not dare to drive it on hi-way, so I just test-driving around my house area, and after less than 10 minutes of driving, my Civic engine problem started again, first the warning light was blinking and beeping sound, later my car's engine stopped. And towed back to Honda again in less than 1 day. I can't believe that I have bought a such low quality car....read morehide

- Excel. quality, great styling, very safe, exc MPG
- road noise
I was looking for a good commuter car that was safe , economical to run and very dependable, I found that in the 07 Civic ex. I checked out the 07 elantra, fusion, jetta and corolla. The 07 civic was my choice. The deciding factor was resale and safety. The elantra was a nice car but after a couple of years that car is pretty much worthless, Jetta repairs are extremely expensive, fusion was nice but poor resale and corolla's styling is bland. I came out of a Ford Crown vic (Great Car) and never thought I would by a Japanese car. However, I got tired of buying American cars that had no resale value. AS far as quality and resale value go Honda Civic is tops. The majority of mechanics will tell you that the best cars to buy are toys or Honda's. The 07 Civic is all quality. I love the way the interior fits together. The 2 tier dash board I think is very practical. The car is very peppy and I'm getting an average of 33-35MPG. The only issue I had with the car that was minor was the center console would get extremely hot when the heat is on in the floor mode. I brought the car back to the dealer 2x to fix. Seems like there is a hose that runs under the console that seperated. Other than that great car. It has pleanty of leg room in the front and my kids are comfortable in the back. The trunk is a little small. WHen going over a bumpy road the civic seems to be a little to low to the ground. It almost feels as if the wheels are hitting the fender wells. I would recommend the civic ex, i got mine for 18200. FYI- don't get the autobannd (protective 3m film for the front of the car) from the dealer, better off getting it installed by an after market person and save yourself $400. Try Todd's Touch in somersworth NH. If your looking for a solid commuter car Civic is it....read morehide

- It's a Honda! You will get near KBB Value when trading it in
- The WORST Manual Transmission Honda I have ever owned!!!!!!!!!
I have owned several Honda's since my first 1975 Civic CVCC 5- Speed to my current 8th Generation Civic's (5-Speed Automatic Coupe to my 5- Speed Sedan. The Automatic Civic is an absoulute ball to drive!!!!!!! The Sedan is absolutely the opposite, the manual transmission in the 8th Generation Civic with the Drive-by-Wire is the worst I have ever driven by Honda!! The Manual Transmission is very herky-jerky to get a smooth shift between gears. I have grinded the 2nd to 3rd upshift several times!!! WTF!!
My 2005 Civic EX/SE Coupe had the "BEST MANUAL TRANSMISSION EVER FROM HONDA"!!! This car ('05 Civic EX/SE) has to be the best manual transmission ever made as well as the S2000 and NSX....read morehide

- Good look.
- Bad Fuel Consumption and expensive.
This car is quite expensive and I don't think this car worth this price tag. Low quality interior, especially the digital meter. If you have long leg and it will be very uncomfortable to drive this car. I think this car will be only bought by Honda fans.

- 31-35 MPG range, inside is quiet and comfortable, great ride, new look
- you have to play hardball to get close to invoice price
Before buying this car, I read the critical reviews. The typical complaints involve the dashboard, the front of the car, poor mileage, other cabin complaints and cost.
Yes, the dashboard is a bit extensive and the split guage is different, however it is not distracting when driving. The cabin is very quiet in the EX, even with the sunroof tilted up to catch a bit of air. The seats are comfortable. The sound system is great. In the black color, the car looks very modern from all angles. The alloy wheels are very nice. Handling is very competent.
In March, I did have to go to three dealers to find one willing to haggle down to $500 over dealer invoice. Once we agreed to that price, they had to track down a manual. The car arrived with 200 miles (driven from another dealer), but it had many free dealer add-ons!
After 6 months, I have been getting 34 - 35 MPG in suburban driving. This is --with effort-- to not pound on the pedal off intersections. If I am in the city or want to race everyone off the line, I find the mileage down 30-31 MPG, as advertised! The car has hp for an economy sedan, but you pay the price in mileage if you abuse it....read morehide
