This car is amazing! It handles criply and has enough acceleration to keep performance afficionados happy. The stiif ride, which is a good thing for positive handling and crisp cornering, is really the only thing I could possibly complain about. I have no problems with 3rd gear, and now that I think about it, that problem may have more to do with the reach required to get to the shifter than anything mechanical.
This car needs to be revved to really show off its grit. When the tach hits 6500 rpm it's almost like a turbo kicking in.
I bought this car and passed up the V8 Charger and Mustang. I think this VTEC engine technology is what all modern day muscle cars need to have. You get great performance and reasonable economy for thousands of dollars less than those V8 powered cars. I'm 49 years old and before I test drove the Si I thought performance cars had to have big displacement motors. Growing up, it was what I was used to. I guess you can learn something new no matter how old you are.
The performance, looks, and the economy are all matches made in heaven and I would recommend Honda's road rocket to anyone. I'm seriously impressed!
