- fun to drive, handle, lots of power, very sporty
- 3rd gear sticks, limited interior space
This is a great car overall that is fun to drive, except the one thing that bothers me is the 3rd gear sticking. I went to the shop and they said my gear was faulty so they replaced it. Three months later my 3rd gear still isn't 100% fixed. It still sticks but it's more uncommon. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has this problem. It seems as if many other people have this same problem. Also my clutch sometimes makes this clanking noise when I push down. I love this car, but I can't compare it to anything else so I can't really say you should buy it....read morehide

- LSD works great on wet (snow) and dry, handle very good on corners, powerful v-tec engine, sporty!!!
Come on people! This car has the best value for a sport car. I bought my 2007 Honda Civic Si brand new for about $20500. Wow, You can get a sport car with all the racing gear such as LSD with VSA, 2.0 197 Hp dohc v-tec engine, 17 in. alloy wheel w/ tires, etc,. With all these goodies for under $21,000, you can't find any competitor out there in the market. Or maybe you can get a used car. This car is like the Honda S2000 younger brother with fewer horsepower. The Civic Si has a 2.0 liter engine as the S2000. The only thing I like about this car is its LSD and its v-tec engine. I like the way it handle on fast corner and the v-tec sound when it kicks. You want power, rev it up past 6000 rpm and you will FEEL THE POWER OF I-VTEC. I say whatever I want to said, but if you want to know the truth about this car performance, go test drive for your self and it will solve solve your problem....read morehide

- Sound system, innovative all around, low maintenance, moonroof, tint, rims
- 3rd gear problems, shifter knob chipping, engine revs hang right after releasing clutch, and more
Inside plastics scrape easy and the special cloth is just a magnet for dusty things.
There are often times when you shift to 3rd gear before crossing an intersection because of a very close gearing.
Trunk space is enormous, but that just eliminates the comfort of passengers.
Lots of blind spots (which applies to all civic coupes).
Lots of horsepower, very little torque.
The sound system is the best i have ever heard from factory, nothing comes close.
Feels very low to the ground.
The major concern for this vehicle that most Si owners have is the revs hanging even after letting the gas go, and sticky 3rd gear problems (grinding gears and notchy shifting). Honda has yet to recall anything (from what i know), and these are major nuisances from an enthusiast's perspective. There are tons of outcries to fix these problems but i assume it would cost way too much for Honda to fix.
Save about $2000 more and get a VW GTI instead, its better engine (same HP but way more torque) with same gas mileage and better comfort. Unless you really want the Si for its looks and sound system, and you hate the GTI rims...read morehide

- Fast for a 4cyl. VTEC is always amazing. Drives amazing and handles excellent.
- Shifting is not as smooth. 3rd gear sticks and isnt smooth sometimes.
I love the car. This is my first Honda. For a 4cylinder, the pick up is nice. the features are awesome. rims, sound system, racing seats, dashboard features, all are sweet. The only thing that i dont care for and still havent found out why is the third gear. the car shifts alright, but it isnt that sports car shifting feel. the third gear acts like it doesnt want to go in gear on occasion. other than that i would definitly recommend the car....read morehide

- Overall refinement, Reliabilty, Handling, Fit and Finish, Driving experience
- Blind Spots, lots of rowing if you want quiet operations
Overall, a great car. I really like the progressively futuristic spaceship interior and exterior. Layout of controls is very noticeable and the two -tier display didn't look nor feel bad while driving.....as a matter of fact felt better and more inspirational than traditional displays. It's 6 speed is very silky smooth. Feels like a race-car without the race-car pricetag.
As for the negatives, the blind spots are of some concern because it's every you look. Quiet operation of the vehicle is possible but requires constant shifting at 2,500K - 3,000K Revs....read morehide

- LSD!!! VSA that you can turn off when you want to burn some rubber
- drivers seat squeeks
I feel this vehicle gave the Fun back into driving for the past year i've gone through 5 cars ranging from a 92 civic hb with an h22 swap, to a 2006 pontiac g6 coupe gtp with a leaky roof, to a 2007 toyota corrola with insufficient power and still used more gas, to a 2007 lexus is250 awd. And now I am back to Honda with the new 08 SI coupe...... I am overjoyed with this HONDA it takes me back to my hatch except much safer and soooo much fun to drive. I would recommend any Honda really even if its not fast out of the box, It will keep it's value and stick with you forever, just fyi my 92 hatch had over 270,000 miles on the original motor and trans and would still outrun basic cars because of the weight. You'll Never go wrong with a Honda, however one thing did catch my attention. the driver seat does squeek whenever i get in and start driving, same thing with the 92 hatch i had i weigh 175 lbs im not overweight but this is a small issue since these seats are more costly....read morehide

- Good looks, fuel economy, 6 spd, brakes, VTEC boost, safety features, and rock solid reliability.
- Little squeeks/rattles from dash, cheap floormats, supercharger please!
Excellent car, but as soon as you set the mark, other companies up the ante. The engine is strong and smooth, but is blown away by the new competition power. Granted they all boost their engines with turbos. Hmm, maybe Honda could make a factory supercharged version? Some squeeks and rattles from the dash and cheap material on floor mats. Hondas made in Japan are just built better than those built in Canada. Honda reliability crushes the competition. I wonder how well the GTI and Mazda hold up after 100+ thousand miles on their engines....read morehide
