- First and second gear can get you moving pretty quick. Gas mileage is good But...
- horrible sound system. Head light are also weak.
This is a good looking commuter car if you drive less than 40 mins each way. The car also handles good, and the 17 inche rims gives you a sporty look. The front suspension is very harsh and loud if you hit a bump. The seats keep you inplace if you like to take sharp turns, but if you have a cell phone or anything like that hanging from your belt... you will need to take it off before entering the car. Don't get me wrong the seats provide great support when driving hard, but don't expect confyness if you have a PDA phone or anything like that.
The sounds system can go up to 40, but by the time you hit 20 you will hear distortion. I compared the 4 speaker sounds system with my 03 4runner and the toyota is 3 time better and has no sub-wof like the civic.
The first night I drove my civic, I thought my head lights were not working becasue I couldn't see much, so I had no option but to replace the 55 watt bulb to a pair of 80 watts and saw some difference. Now, have fun removing the tire and buyng a speal screw driver if you are going to do it your self. Unfortunately everything is so tight under the hood that in order for you to replace the low beam bulb you have to remove the tire and pull down and away the plastic cover so you can get your hands in there to remove two small screws in order for the bulb to come out and then of course you have to put the little screws back on other wise the bulb will fall out of place..... sounds like fun??? I also notice that the tires are very loud on the highway, but a friend of mine had the same problem so he replaced his tires, according to him the ride is a lot more smoother.... but I'm not waisting $$ on a 3 year leased car.... not worth it.
Now that I told you all the bad things, the car is hot looking, it drives well, and you'll be doing 100 mph in 3rd gear in no time.... it is a lot of fun to drive but don't expect good gas mileage if you keep your RPMS over 4 most of time.
Unfortunately Honda did a good job creating an eye catching civic, but when it comes down to business.... the tires are loud on the highway, the radio is weak and you get very little bass from the sub.... so if you are going to be driving with the windows down and trying to listen to some tunes.... you may want to look for a new sounds system.
Let's be realistic, this still a 20k car.... so if you still want to get one, go for a test drive at night and bring a CD with some Hip-pop or high bass songs and you make the decision. If you are buying it and have $$ to modify it.... this is the perfect car for that.
Have fun. Drive safe....read morehide

- Driving fun, gearbox, handling, gas mileage, can't think of them all
- 3rd gear before Amsoil
Great car for a commuter that is still fun to drive. I drive 70 miles each way to work. I started having the third gear grind, but once I drained the overfilled transmission. Then refilled it with Amsoil it has been great since. I now have 22k miles since June. I have since added the fog lamps and hfp suspension. I think the car should have come with the hfp suspension. It is just a little stiffer, and a little lower. The way it handles now seems about right. I was 90% sure I was going to buy a MS3. I even had a deposit on one. Then I drove the GTI, MS3, and Si. I decided on the Si, due to the amount of driving I do. I felt that the Si fit me better. I felt it was more fun to drive. I average 31mpg....read morehide

- I got my Si just two weeks ago!It is alot of fun to drive, very smooth shift nob, quick, great sound
- Had to go to the dealer ship three times for minor problems.
Just get one and enjoy it!!!I love driving this car in the free way and honda did a good job with the performance when the vtec kicks inn at 6000 rpm you can feel the car put out its power.

- Fun to drive, great handling, good on fuel, sleeper look
- A little tight in the seat for a big guy.
You need to test drive this car!
The extra HP is worth it.
I use it to commute 45 miles each way to work and enjoy the ride 2x/day.
Can't beat it for the price. But that's just my opinion.

- 4 door utility with sports car performance and 30+MPG
- Boy racer looks and sounds
Very satisfied!! If you want a practical, fast, great looking car, with Honda reliability, look no further. I have owned mine for a month now and it is definately the best car I've owned. If you want a smooth, quiet ride, get an EX. The firm ride and sometimes buzzy exhaust are constant reminders that this is a performance car. The engine is docile around town and in parking lots, but screams when you open it up. Around 6,000 RPM, the things takes off!!! 8,000 RPM redline seemed absurd at first, but this car sounds like a race car when you push it.
The other civics models are nice, but for about $3,000 more than an EX, you get A LOT of car. More power!, Awesome bucket seats!, better stereo, nicer rims/tires. THIS CAR DOES IT ALL, AND DOES IT EXCEPTIONALLY!...read morehide

- The looks, 4 doors, resale value, high safety rating, overall good package.
- Low low torque, must rev above 7,000 rpm to get power, 91 octane only.
I really had a tough decision choosing between Mazdaspeed3 and the civic si sedan. I was in the market for about 2 months, and i test drove both of the cars. Si's handling is good (so does MS3), but the car has no torque with all those horses sitting in there, power gets a little better after 7000 rpm, than it redlined at 8,000 rpm. I had to constantly down shifting to stay in the power band, not good for everyday driving, and putting too much stress on the engine too. 91 octane only is a minus too.(consider the car is not even turbo charged) Both cars have stylish looks, Mazdaspeed 3 is the best performance car hands down(Tons of torque after 2,500 rpm, very little turbo lag in first gear, great handling, fun, fun fun, love, love, loved it!), but when it is up to reliability, safety ratings and resale value, i can not put my money on Mazda.(It would be a good idea to lease one!!!) So i decided to go with reliability, safety, and resale value. Honda's reputation saved it's butt from me buying a MS3. I hope i won't regret about this in the future....read morehide
