- Pros
- Excellent gear shift, 8200 RPM iVTEC, Great handling, reliable, easy to maintain
- Cons
- Ride may be a little stiff for the non-enthusiast

I love this car. I have a 2007 Civic Si sedan and it has been nothing short of excellent, since I've owned it second-hand back in 2008.
The car handles very well for a FWD car and the gear shift is silky smooth. Definitely one of the best shifting transmissions, save for the Honda S2000.
Gas mileage has been very efficient averaging ~30mpg on the highway and about 25 in the city. This is with plenty of 6000+ rpm shifts. The iVTEC system is a pleasure to experience and the sound of an engine screaming at 8200 RPM is nirvana.
The torque may be rated pretty low at 140 ft.lbs but the way it is delivered is so linear that I really have no problem passing others on the highway when needed. Just a downshift to one lower gear and that is sufficient enough for virtually anyone's day-to-day driving needs when wanting to overtake.
The ride is a little stiff, but what do you expect from the sporty model of the civic. If you want a nice, comfortable ride, opt for the Civic EX/LX The Si is an enthusiast's car and begs to be driven so. Daily.
Maintenance is a breeze as with any other Honda, and the reliability has been top notch. Just an oil change, and tranny flush, and keeping the fluids topped off, and you're good to go. The up-keep is easy on the wallet and can be done in anyone's garage. Honda's are very easy and enjoyable to work on.
All in all I would rate the civic Si a 9/10 due to the fact that it fulfills 95% of all enthusiast driver's needs on a daily basis without sacrificing practicality and reliability. You can take it to the grocery store on friday and race it at the auto-x on sunday. This may very well be the last time we ever see a 8000+ RPM Honda Screamer motor, and I'm glad I'm able to experience a little piece of the Honda race engineering that dates back to their F1 days.
The Civic Si truly is a jack of all trades for the performance-oriented driver who also does not want to compromise the duties of real life....read morehide1 out of 17 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Reliability, aesthetics, gas mileage
- Cons
- Oil filter access, e-brake placement

I'm not sure why the Si Sedan has gotten so many terrible reviews but I figured I'd throw my .02 about my 08 Si Sedan.
I've gotten no less than 31mpg when I baby my Si on the highway (constant 75 on cruise control).
Having put 65k miles on it in the last two years, I've had no problems with it at all. Just oil changes and one transmission fluid flush.
The only complaint I've actually had is the placement of the ebrake. It digs into the side of your knee. Not too big a deal but something to keep in mind for the taller people....read morehide3 out of 16 people found this review helpful.

I own a 2007 SI sedan w/ 67k; its on the road every day and I drive at least 80 miles each workday; regular 29 MPG and I drive the car to bring out its performace attributes; I'm surprised that the other reviews are so down on this model; I agree the torque could be better, but it steps right up to 110 MPH without hesitation and is rock solid; I think its the best looking of the "pocket rockets," the MPG is the best, and the perforamance is on a par with the Mazda speed 3 and the Subaru WRX....read morehide

my friend said this car has been reliable, however after test driving it a few times i dont find this car pleasant or impressive. I get leg cramped after driving this car for few hours. i dont like the design of the small brake pedal since its so small and touchy.
this car is not for you if you wanna commute, go for a long trip, or have 5 people sitting in the car. It is however attracts youngsters, i dont recommend though having old dudes driving this car. it doesn;t look good. anyway i dont like how this car sounds-dont know what si means and civic sounds faggy.
i think the honda accord coupe is a much better car than this even though it still sucks, but accord has leather trimmed, higher torque engine lower rpm reeving. Less tiring to drive the accord and more stable ride in freeway....read morehide29 out of 37 people found this review helpful.

I had 2006 Civic, it is under 60,000 miles. So far the check engine light went on twice, it cost couple hundreds dollars to fix. The visor was replaced three times. Front bumper is too low...
At speed over 70mph, the car is shaking ...
