I bought my Civic Si Sedan new a few weeks ago, and I must say that my initial experiences with the vehicle have been almost completely positive.
The exterior of the vehicle is, in my opinion, a far cry from the Civic sedans since the 6th generation, and that is a good thing. The car looks lower, wider, and generally sportier. The open mouth and honeycomb grill on the nose of the car are welcome changes, as are the chrome accents. The most drastic changes come in the rear of the vehicle, with redesigned taillights and a wider base. All around, this car is the best looking Civic sedan to hit lots since the turn of the millennium.
The drive train, on the other hand, is the same performance-based equipment seen in the Si's of yesteryear. The 2.4L I4 201-hp engine is zippy despite the lack of turbo, and the transmission is excellent. I've driven cars with manual transmissions my entire life, and I have yet to drive a car that shifts as smoothly as this Si. The first two gears are pretty short, but you will be hard-pressed to find a manual that shifts this well in the price range.
The suspension is fairly tight, which makes handling fun, but it also compromises some ride quality. I take this car on the interstate every once in a while, and I can feel every bump on the road. The brakes are slightly larger than previous models and work admirably.
The fuel economy leaves a lot to be desired, but I would have bought a hybrid if this were my main concern. Buyers looking for a fuel efficient car and are willing to sacrifice performance should consider one of the other Civic sedan models.
On the inside, the 2013 Civic Si Sedan does a lot of things well, but there is not much to excite or inspire. I can say that pictures do not do this cockpit justice. Many photos had me scoffing at the overall design, but my physical experience with the vehicle has left me with positive thoughts. It seems that every dial, button, and switch is placed for convenience. If I had to pick something to complain about, it would be the iPod integration. It works well, but some of the features could be improved, such as the ability to easily locate specific artists or songs without sifting through an entire library of music. It seems like an afterthought that provides an incoherent, unsafe process for music enthusiasts on the road. That said, it is still an improvement over most alternatives. Information on music, time, temperature, fuel economy, and power monitoring displays on a small screen in the dash that is easy to reference while focusing on driving.
Overall, I am quite impressed with the quality of the vehicle, which is coming from someone that is generally difficult to please when it comes to cars. I think this one is a keeper....read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

This car is definitely more fun to drive than a regular civic, I have both. Not sure why some people are making negative comments. I think it may be because it doesn't look like a young kid's car anymore. It seems Honda may have designed this for an older crowd looking for something sportier than the norm. I think it looks great inside and out. Have been getting 35 mpg on rural highways going to work. Plenty of power. Handles great. I can't really gauge reliability because it is new, no problems so far. Premium fuel adds about 3 more bucks on a fill up. Great stock stereo....read morehide
