- OK so it drinks the fuel but what car doesnt these days! Great looker!
- It takes a while to get it moving on acceleration after going up a hill in AT low gear
I hate to say this to Rav4 lovers but I tried out both models new and old of these cars and I hated the tinny/plastic feel of the RAV4 like the manufacturers had come up with this rad design and then they gave it an interior of mutton dressed as lamb. SOmethings didnt add up with the exterior glamour of the RAV4, its interior and its price. It seemed the RAv4 didnt come near in comparison when I first drove my CRV, the seats in my (now) CRV were very comfortable - I found it very easy to drive and for whatever reason didnt feel as nervous driving the CRV as opposed to the RAV4 - in other words the shortness and height of the RAV4 while it affords more view capacity - I felt unsafe in it, the CRV was snug and it was like me and my black beauty were meant to be together. I love the quirky design of the CRV's interior and where the gears and hand brake are located - their cabin trays and loads of space to put things - the interior design of the CRV far excedes that of RAV4. Its performance is probably the same but CRV feels less Tinny. The CRV designers have been imaginative - with their interior, RAV4 seemed like any other new vehicle trying to make a killing by using the cheapest materials possible and making them look expensive - I feel consumers of certain makes of cars are deceiving - Honda CRV I have found - do not - it is what it is a brilliant car....read morehide

- no pros
Does not have any pick up, especially when you have to get on a highway and this thing is standing still and thinking if it should go or not!. Eats a tank of gas for breakfast.I hate this car!

- Good gas mileage - getting between 25 &* 26, easy to enter & exit, cargo area works good
- Tire noise, hard seats, driver's seat doesn't go back enough for tall folks
Thus far with a few thousand miles on the odometer, I have found Honda's traditional quality holding up. I have an LX 2WD that I bought for gas mileage, SUV characteristics, and resale value. My driving is a combination of local and freeway, and here in Southern California the idea of needing a high performance vehicle for freeway driving on heavily congested freeways is a joke ( I guess we can reminisce about earlier times when we actually got up to freeway speed during the day...). The idea here is: Have something like the CRV for work, and keep a REAL car in the garage for the weekends...
A couple of things Honda just doesn't get (and has never figured out - I've owned Accords too) is that tall drivers need for the seat to go back a bit further. That would seem to mandate a telescoping steering column, which makes good sense for all drivers to get comfortable. The other would be the sound system - it's subpar in the LX model CRV. The speakers are too close to the floor and sound like they're in the floor..
The CRV is well laid out, tight and gets the job done....read morehide

- Seats are a little uncomfortable, but not that bad
LOVE THIS CAR. My first new car was a Honda Civic....loved it...then we both a 1997 CRV....love it!. Now we just recently purchased a Honda Ridgeline...like riding in a luxury car! I'll never drive anything but a Honda!

- Excellent acceleration for a 4-cyl, storage, maneuverability, small size great for parking
- Bumpy and noisy ride, hard seats.
Just got it a couple of days ago. Have already ordered seat cushions for all 4 of us. Seats are too uncomfortable for even half-hour rides for some of us.

- 23mpg actual; handles well; good turning radius; cargo area is big enough to do a lot for you
- Acceleration not great; gear select is oddly placed
I bought this car (in May '06) for it's safety rating. Side curtain airbags are standard, while RAV-4 costs about the same without them. I'm getting 23mpg based on total mileage and total gallons, with about 60% highway miles. My only complaints are: the lack of power on acceleration (but I wouldn't have bought a 6cyl if it were available) and the placement of the gear selector which is not on the steering column, but to the right of the dashboard, left of the radio. If you attempt to change the station on the radio while driving, the gear selector will poke at your wrist. Other than those things, I really like this car....read morehide

- ok on fuel, got a good deal, 4x4,roof rack and remote start LX model
- I enjoy the ride, seat not very comfortable, the arm rest is very narrow,.
Basic car, comes very stripped down. I went through about 10 dealers before I got my price.I am coming out of a mini-van, so I needed space and this car provides it. This is my first new car and went with Honda because of reputation. Also looked at the RAV 4 but they are very expensive. For the package I received and the price I paid, I am very happy with my purchase...read morehide

- Great resale value; reliable
- Rough ride, hydroplaned big time!
I've never heard anyone else make this complaint about the CR-V, but mine hydroplaned so badly, espececially in storms, that it was downright scary. I bought it new, and I didn't even keep it long enough to wear out a set of tires. I felt like it was a dangerous car. In addition, the ride was rough and the seats were uncomfortable. I never had any mechanical problems with the vehicle, so that was a plus. My teenagers loved it, so maybe it's really designed for young people, but it NEEDS TO BE SAFER!...read morehide

- Lots of room, Functional, Versatile
- Fuel Efficiency Could be Better
I am writing from Central America, where Toyota is king. This car is great for the price especially the room. The trim is all right, nothing luxurious but then, what we want around here is functionality.
