2008 Honda CR-V
There are 10 user reviews for the EX-L 4WD 5-Spd AT w/ Navigation System trim shown below
- Comfort, safety, good gas mileage for an SUV
- seat adjustments could be better for a short person
Purchased As New
I bought the 2008 Honda to replace an older (1999 Toyota Rav 4). At the time of purchase my commute was 220 miles round trip and I needed a reliable AWD vehicle that would handle well in winter. This vehicle fit the bill and was the most comfortable and best equipped for the price. I tested Toyota Rav 4, Lexus IS 250, Subaru Forester and Toyota Matrix before deciding on the Honda. I did purchase an additional set of winter tires, primarily for the hill climb in my own driveway. It has a steep grade and is narrow, the tires gave me the traction needed for Wisconsin winters. The only downside for the winter tires is the TPM sensor which needs to be calibrated separately each time I swap tires since the winter tires are on rims with sensors. I average 26-28 mpg even with the winter tires and never get lost thanks to the navigation system.
My only con is the seat adjustments, I am short and wish the seat height adjustment was a little greater. In the grand scheme of things - that is minor. Seat heaters and driver side lumbar heat is great for long commutes....read morehide

- The gas mileage actually improves with time. Very happy with the mileage.
- blind spot on rear.Honda charges extra for every little upgrade.
This is a great car for doing errands around town. It is easy to drive, easy to park . The awd is smooth and peppy.

- sporty, fun to drive, comfort, love this car
- light interior had to keep clean!
Bought my CRV last June, drove it for over 15hours this last month (one way)and we enjoyed the comfort-the GPS, CD, and especially the gas mileage! My husband is 6 foot and he was comfortable and wouldnt let me drive since I drive it to work every day-30 miles one way! I have aprox 20k on it in a year and it has not shown any wear and tear on it, there are the door knicks but that is expected....read morehide

- Love the Car! Handles well, a little pep, and has more dodads inside than the space shuttle
- I', 6-4....and would love another inch or 2 of leg-room, but even at my height it's comfortable
I bought the car a week ago and have put 1300 miles on it already! I can't get enough. I traded in an Explorer after getting fleeced for 80-plus bucks every 3 days at the pumps. The CRV is easy on the gas....I've nearly double my mileage! The ride is tight and sporty. The look is terrific too. A sexy cross-over that's got some cargo room and a little pep. Inside you'll need a few weeks to soak up all the extras that come along with the EXL-NAV model that I bought. And if you like cubby holes and extra space.......the CRV has got ya covered. It's a winner......go buy one you will not be dissapointed!...read morehide

- A great design and great layout inside the vehicle. I love the features with this car.
- Road noise is too much, Navi is far too confusing, still a V4 and no way to get around that.
This car is a great value for the money. It is packed with features and a really good blend of SUV with a well riding, high fuel mileage car. Understand you are still getting a four cylinder however and therefore this is not made for racing or off roading. I like having AWD however I will not know exactly how good or bad it is until winter. They could have made it a bit quieter in the cabin from road/wind noise. Overall great value...read morehide

- Fuel economy, comfort and handling.
- Perhaps a bit noisy in rear seat on rough roads.
The CRV is a very nice vehicle. It is very responsive and rides incredibly smooth for a 4WD. Fuel economy is great for highway (28mpg) and acceptable for around town (24mpg). The electronics are very versatile and well thought out - 6-disc CD, good sound, extra aux input jack, and nice easy to read instrument cluster. Plenty of airbags in case things get a bit rough.
The vehicle is expected to hold its value for many years. The dependability of Honda is indisputable (are you listening Detroit?).
We tested the Toyota RAV4 and although we liked the body style a little more than the CRV, we found insufficient leg room for 6'1" driver or passenger - but also worth a try....read morehide

- Is the perfect combination of sport looks, luxury and great machine
Rides smothly, great stereo with extra jack for external player, XM Radio and 5CD player, radio controls in your steering wheel, save gas, leather seats with heat control, independent temperature for the driver and passenger seats, the back seats you can adjustable whatever you want (foward, back and reclineables), Navigation system is owsome, the looks inside is beautiful, mine is black inside and outside, three electrical outlets, sunglass pocket with a guess mirror, sunroof, digital displays, tire preassure control, oil life display, maintenance reminder, voice control, two comparments in the passenger seat (front), one more between the front seats, a lot of space in the front and back, fog lights, chrome side bars, rear spoiler, great for any type of wheater, I love my CRV.
No bluethooth, no vanity mirror light, no DVD player (A lot of navigation systems got the DVD player feature).Got like a computer card reader for music storage (I don't like that), and the computer card is too expensive.
TO MAKE THIS CAR THE PERFECT CAR MAKE IT HYBRID(sugestion)
I recommend this beatiful car the bad things are minimal, just little details, this is a very good purchase. If you want someting more than a regular car, get a CRV you got all together....read morehide

- Excellent value, space, and fuel MPG considering the size of the SUV
- Ride is rough but it's a SUV, no a/c vents in rear
I got my first honda in May 2007, it's a great deal for $28,000 to get
NAV, leather, XM radio, all wheel drive, (on demand), tire pressure
monitoring, and great style. It's much better looking than the RAV4.I have 10,000 miles on it including one trip I drove 1077
miles in 17 hours. Avg. gas mileage was 26.4. Seats became a
little hard after such a long trip. If you load it up with alot of
weight it will become slow, but it is fine with just 2 people and
normal running around town. If Honda would put the new 197 hp
engine it has in the accord in the CRV, that may help....read morehide

- Very Good Fuel Economy, Excellent Nav System w/Stereo, great quality and finish work. sporty look
- Storage pockets too small, no rear a/c-heat vents, no triptonic tranny
Mixed driving with most city average 24.6, all highway have returned 29.5 mph and on a long trip with a nice mix, average 28.2 mpg and highway was at 80 mph. Great SUV, fantastic mpg when comparing to others with storage, comfort and features. Drives like car, very quiet, and good handling. Seats on very comfortable. Plenty of overall space. The Navigation system is fantastic with an excellent sounding stereo with many options. The a/c is cold and keep the suv very nice. Live in Florida. Power is actually very good from 0-50mph for around time, very zippy, on highway at above 65mph, a bit sluggish, but if you manually take it off overdrive, it is actually very good. The tranny will drop from 5th to 3rd and hits it's power rev-range and really can move quite nicely to pass at 70mph and higher. If you let the auto tranny handle it it only goes down to 4th, which doesn't give you the power you need, so manually drive it (would be much better with a triptonic tranny)....read morehide
