Went with EX versus LX. EX contains the following over LX: Passenger side arm rest, upgraded cloth interior and trim, privacy glass, upgraded Stereo(6 vs. 4 speakers), Sunroof, Tonneau Cover, 17" polished rims, and fog lights. That is really it.
Its a shame Honda makes you pay $2,000 to go from LX to EX and another $2k+ from EX to EX-L. They need to work on their one price fits all options packages in my opinion as not everyone (me inparticular) wanted a sunroof, tonneau cover, or 17" rims. The stereo and privacy glass are a must in my case, and the cloth interior is better in my opinion. But you cannot order an LX with those options only. AND NO SATELLITE RADIO??????? WHY NOT?????
The car rides nice but road noise is pronounced. This may be the tires. It is not annoying but you can definately hear the road. It is not a quiet ride. The CR-V drives like a car, comparable to an Accord in my opinion. Power is adequate but can be better. You are not going to win any speed races and I suspect towing 1,500 lbs(the max weight) you will have issues and have to be extremely careful. My 2004 highlander seems more powerful with less HP under the hood. I am averaging about 26 MPG combined driving which is nice.
The radio is nice although it is basic by todays standards in my opinion. The speakers are adequate. I plugged in a 32GB USB thumb drive and the songs were easily accessible on the screen. It was a little cumbersome to use but interface was OK. There was a lag accessing songs. Perhaps because the USB drive was too big at 32GB. Steering wheel controls for radio are adequate as are phone controls, but you cannot use steering wheel to control most options when using USB or I-Pod. You have to use the knob on the console which may be a reach for some. This is silly given all the safety features Honda has. You have to take your eye off the road to sort through songs quickly or go one by one on the steering wheel. That knob which is like central command, is a far reac for some. The new IMID interface is nice and failry easy to use overall. Screen can be bigger but is adequate. You can even store up to 3 pictures to use as wallpaper if you choose which is nice.
For a phone, pairing a Blackberry to it was easy and overall setup took 3-5 minutes and required no use of a manual. For speed dialing (Dialing by voice commands) you can only store 15 names which is kind of a drag. This may be an issue with some but OK with me overall. Bluetooth works well.
Seats are firm but comfortable. No adjustible lumbar support for driver which is strange. Back seats recline slightly which is real nice and useful for long hauls. Seats in back also fold forward giving lots of room.
Rear camera is more gimicky than useful in my opinion. There is no back up sensor, just a camera with yellow lines indicating distance. A sensor woudl have been more useful. Dont get me wrong, it is a good tool to use in some cases but takes getting used to. I'd rather have better radio features or other features.
The car is constructed well, rides well, and looks great. On the rear bumber and other trim, some things feel "cheap" but I think are OK. On the rear bumber you can feel the plastic go in/out when you close the rear lid for example.
I considered a Toyotal Rav 4, Chevy Equinox, and Kia Sorento as my alternatives. The CR-V in my opinion as of now is the best for the money and resale. One thing to consider is resale. Hondas far beat any other car for resale in any condition. The Rav 4 will be redesigned next year and may be worth waiting for. I needed the room now and thus I went ahead and bought. I am not disappointed but I am picky. Overall I do like the car and will get years of use out of it.

I got this on Mar 23rd. This is my 2nd CR-V my first was a 2004 EX AWD, This has more items such as blue tooth, XM Radio & DVD system. This CR-V drives better then my last one, I test drove a 2011 Ford Escape, the CR-V beat it by a mile, there was no comparison, CR-V hands down.

I just purchased the CRV on Thursday. I traded in an Edge. I was reluctant at first to buy the CRV because I was going from a heavy V6 to a small 4 cylinder. I needed better gas mileage.I have to admit I am glad I made the trade. I find the CRV fun to drive. There was more interior space than I thought there would be. I have a lot more features on the CRV. It is not as fast on take off but that was expected with a 4 cylinder but performes sufficent enough. I am overall satisfied with this small SUV and would recommed a test drive to see....read morehide

I went from a 03 Accord V6 EX-L to a 12 CR-V EX-L w/ RES and I can't believe what took me so long. My family simply outgrew the Accord and we were putting too much mileage on our 08 Odyssey Touring and wanted another vehicle to use on the weekends and take some of the pressure off of the van. What a great vehicle. Very quiet, great mileage, fantastic looks, great features (XM Radio, Bluetooth, USB Aux port) and best of all it fits in my garage. One of the major deciding factors between some of the larger SUVs and even the Honda Crosstour was the sheer size of the vehicles. This is actually a foot shorter than my old Accord and fits beautifully in the garage, but still has loads more function that what we had before. We drove the new Mazda CX-5 and could not believe how much they were asking for a small SUV and how little power it had...we walked away completely un-impressed. With all the accolates being hyped with the Mazda, I could not believe the difference when we drove the CR-V. Much more space, much quieter, much more power and better ride quality. Sure the Mazda might have the zoom zoom, but I need the comfort more and this wins hands down. We went through 4 dealerships and had them bid between themselves and the winner was actually below cost according to True Car. Not to mention the residual value that Honda keeps really sets it apart from the competitors. Simply put, this was the best vehicle out there for the money and the amenities that come with it...and we have a rear DVD system to keep the kiddies happy. Win Win!!...read morehide

Bought one for my teenage son to drive back and forth to school and he loves it. Information Display and warning lights pretty much cover everything...
Do wish the console/storage was in 2 parts, need a center arm rest for the passenger.0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

I have 2008 EX-L. I am very happy with gas milage.
There are few things that I am upset with. I paid about $2500 for leather and what I got is not leather. Driver side arm rest started to wrincle and pill of at 46K miles. TPMS sensor for one tire turned on @ 51K miles. I do all my maintenace ay Honda dealer but did not change tires since I did not want to put cheap tires that cost lots of money.
When I took car last wek to a dealer to evaluate these two issue, they told me that arm rest is regular wear and rear and TPMS is out of warranty (36K) so Honda can not do anything for me.I have 2005 Sienna 88K miles with leather seats and there is no problem with leather.
This is last Honda with leather sets that I will purchase. Maybe even last Honda at all....read morehide1 out of 5 people found this review helpful.
