This is a well built, dependable car that gets good mileage.
After 60,000 miles have finally replaced tires and battery . Use Mobil One and change oil every 10,000 miles or one year. Sure beats my Mercedes which was in the shop every month for at least $500 to keep it running.1 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Very good fuel economy, silky smooth ride
- Cons
- None significant so far

Fuel economy: real winner here. I am getting more than 33 MPG in mostly-highway driving (90/10 highway/city mix with highway ~68 mph cruise-control in Econ mode). These are real pump-verified numbers as the onboard computer tends to be a little off (mostly on the "optimistic" side). When I do a tank of Gas in mixed 40/60 City/Highway driving I get about 30-31 mpgs. Again - all numbers verified at the pump. I consider these as excellent results, very happy with this. It is significantly better than promised. However, I am in sunny California having driven through the car's first winter so your mileage may vary. I did notice that as the weather is getting warmer - the car's mileage seems to be even improving slightly.
As some people noted, if someone so desires and drives the car on the highway at low speeds (~55 MPH) you can get some truly outstanding numbers - approaching the 40 mpg. I was never able to get this done for anything resembling a full tank so I can't provide conclusive proof but if you follow your mpg indicators you will see that this appears feasible if you can drive like this (I can't).
Other notes:
I have absolutely no idea why people (who don't drive off-road) would choose the AWD and be penalized with inferior fuel economy for each and every mile they drive.
The car drivetrain is silky-smooth, the engine is very quite, it gives you the ride of a luxury car.
Road noise - I have read people complain about this. For me it is NOT a significant issue at all. I think I felt what they are referring to - a somewhat elevated road-noise, mainly noticeable on concrete (not asphalt). What can I say - the car's ride is so smooth, the transmission and engine so well-behaved, the road noise so contained that it is really a none-issue for me.
The LX 2WD is a phenomenal value for your money. The two misses I see with it are: no hand-rest for passenger (really, Honda?) and no heated seats option (I would gladly pay for this). But overall, great value for your money.
Oil change: this was not clear to me so hopefully other readers will find it useful. The car's computer keeps track of your remaining oil life and is supposed to ignite a light when remaining light goes below 15%. So far I have done more than 3000 miles (mostly highway) and I am still at 70% remaining oil life. Looks good.
Power: Again, the source of many complaints in online reviews. My perspective on it is the following, I hear what you are saying but not a major concern of mine. The only time I noticed it was when I took a trip up a steep long incline, the car had to downshift and raise the RPMs to keep the speed I wanted to drive in. IMHO there is plenty of power to accelerate when needed both in the city and on the highway. I realize that there is a trade-off between acceleration and gas mileage and I am willing to accept less acceleration for better mileage. When cruising at ~65 mph the car engine is very relaxed with rpms below 2000 so you have a lot of room to "step on it" if needed....read morehide4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

definitly not worth the money. Got this for 15% off MSRP. thought I was getting a steal. Am trading it in on another brand. will never buy a Honda. Traded in a 1997 ford with 166000 miles... would trade back if I could. very poor milage ...18 city 22 highway. ABS/allwheel drive/ vehicle stability control WAY too sensitive. Pump makes noise. Lots of wind noise. display screen worthless. shifts rough....read morehide

I bought a new 2001 CR-V in June 2001 and have never had a day's regret. At 162,000 miles, I've only experienced a failed radiator ($500 replacement cost) and an air conditioning failure in addition to routine maintenance. It works on ski trips and beach trips for my family of four and everyday hauls in between. It has been a fantastic value. I'd like to buy a new car but how can I replace this vehicle that, at nearly twelve years old, costs me almost nothing in depreciation to drive and is as good as new?...read morehide

- Pros

- Cons
- None worth not having the CR-V for!

Still love the car. Would like to address a few issues people have noted:
Road noise - appears primarily on concrete roads and is not all the time by any means but when it does happen occasionally it is bad. I was glad it was only occasionally. I believe it is mostly attributable to the tires AND road surface. Most town and highway driving it is just fine. Have read lots of comments where people who changed tires had enormous improvement.
Headlights - have read they are adjusted to compensate for weight in the cargo area (which would bring the nose of the car up, hence headlights are aimed "too low"). I just drive with my brights on all the time, no one ever signals for me to dim them so that is probably considered where the normal adjustment should be. Visibility is good all the time then.
Stereo - I do wish they would improve it, even the upgraded stereo is just "ok". I miss my Bose...cd's and satellite sound the best or mp3 player....read morehide3 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Good gas mileage
- Cons
- I don't know about the ECON mode
Purchased As New
I bought 2013 CR-V Exl AWD w Navigation and whole bunch of other accessories such as day night mirror, remote starter, etc.
Paid just $100 over what you can build at honda.com tax included.
The car has lots and lots of small storages along driver, and passenger side. Cargo area is big enough. The interior seems a lot bigger than what you would be seeing outside.
I was not gonna get the nav but got it because starting 2013 Honda decided to put live traffic.
I have iPhone5 and bluetooth works fine. I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about that iphone5 not being connect because it is not an issue with my cr-v.
Actual mileage that I get is around 22/28. I once got 32 going 50mph mostly down hill for about 15 minutes driving around 12 minutes. I guess it is not performing so well because it's winter time. I should improve once weather gets warmer.
Performance. Just like I've expected on a cr-v.
Cons and Complaints.
CR-V fogs up way too much on driver side during winter. I constantly have to turn defrost on and off or tilt the sunroof every 3 minutes or less.
I don't know if ECON mode really helpful. It just numbs the accelaration so that everytime I get on the highway, I turn it off at the beginning.
Cruise control sucks. It has very slow response. Say tha tyou want to cruise at 70 on interstate and you hit the set button, it never sets at 70! it always sets at 67-68 and if you want to up the speed by 2 miles, it would take you about 5-8 seconds for it to response.
If you were stuck at a slower traffic, and finally got back to a open road, resuming the cruise will just make you mad because by using the resume function at speed 50 mph going up to 70, it's going to take about 20 seconds that I rather step on the gas and reset it at that speed.
Honda should apply gaining or losing 5mph function and also should improve faster cruise reaction time.
I have a lot more to say but I shouldn't because it's going to be more like comparison in between my second car which is Mercedes C300....read morehide4 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

- Not IPhone 5 Compatible,
Purchased As New
This is my second CR-V and it has some great features. One problem we have found is with the compatibility with the hands free and the IPhone 5. If you have this IPhone you can not answer the incoming calls (only very occasionally) and Honda knows this is a problem and seems unwilling to fix it. The other IPhone models work fine.
Most other Honda models don't have this problem. Check if you have the IPhone 5 before you buy... Buyer beware!!...read morehide3 out of 6 people found this review helpful.
