- Cons
- bad proformance and not that great mpg

I rented a CR-Z for a week to see how I liked it, it really let me down. The mpg are not bad, but for the money there are a lot of other cars that do much better. The performance is terrible, if you have ever driven a car with reasonable horsepower then you will be disappointed. It is way too heavy for such a small car with this little hp and doesn't feel safe pulling into traffic or getting on the interstate. I really wanted to like the car, but it totally missed the mark....read morehide

- Pros
- Good fuel economy in town, highway not even close to 40, cvt hesitates when starting out
- Cons
- Rough noisy ride, blind spot, seats have basic adjustments,

Overall dissappointed with my purchase. Bought it used with less than 4 k miles. Mileage on highway biggest dissapointment as this is the reason we bought the car. We could live with the high noise at high speeds, or the rough ride if we were getting 39 mpg. Unfortunately, closer to 28 mpg. I also am having a bit of hesitation when I accellerate from a stopped position. Not sue if this is standard with CVT or am I going to have transmission problems in my near future. I am hoping the car will grow on me as I am committed to driving it for a while....read morehide

- Pros
- outstanding mileage, FUN to drive!
- Cons
- interior could be more plush, needs another power port
Purchased As New
I love my CR-Z. It's not a sports car, okay? It's a sporty, fun to drive, fuel efficient commuter car. However, I did take it on 3K mile road trip with luggage, provisions, wife and dog and it wasn't bad. Also got 41.6 mpg overall for the trip. The car isn't for everyone, but I rarely, if ever, have need to carry more than one passenger; the hatch/cargo area makes a fine "back seat" to throw your gear. And it's got room for a month's worth of groceries. I drive 300+ miles/week. This car saves me $80-90/month in gas. 10K between oil changes. Not one single lick of trouble. Compared to Cruze, Focus, Fiesta, Elantra, Jetta, Fit...none could touch it for responsiveness, acceleration, economy and fun-factor. People whine about rear visibility. Huh? You can actually see more of the road thru the split rear windows than most other cars, and if you actually aim the mirrors correctly there is NO blind spot, period. I wish the interior were a little more plush, but it does not have a base-model-stripped-down barrenness either. 13,000 miles later and I have no regrets on my purchase....read morehide

- Pros
- Great gas milage, easy service, sporty, 6 speed transmission, looks, price
- Cons
- getting in and out is a challange, don't like the blindspot
Purchased As New
This car is great. My wife and I bought it for her, she has to commute 400 miles per week, and she has now broke the 50MPG with an average of 45MPG. The "toys" are cool while driving, it engages the driver into paying attention to their driving habits. My Honda dealer is great, we have no problems with the routine service. In Sport mode the car is peppy and handles well in the curves. It will do in excess of 100 mph and it handles well (even though I don't recommend driving at that speed). My only complaint is that I have a bad knee, and getting in and out of the car can be a challange, however I would expect no less from any small car. We drove all of the compition, the Chevy Cruise, the Ford Focus and this car by far beats them all. We will put it away for the upstate NY winters, but if you need a reliable fun car to drive this is the one. Just make sure that egress and entrance is not an issue for you. This was our first "foreign" car purchase, but Detroit watch out you have some tough competition....read morehide

- Pros
- Fuel economy, styling, comfort
- Cons
- cup holder positioning, rear/side vision
Purchased As New
Outstanding automobile! After 12,000 miles averaging just under 42 MPG - trip averages range from 35-48 depending on distance, lights, etc. Sits low to the ground but comfortable. Not a lot of room in the back but I didn't buy it because I needed the room. I can easily get a couple full golf bags in the back - that's all I need. Easy to drive - clutch and gearing are very smooth and well done. Wish they had done a better job positioning the cupholders. Rear and rear/side vision is not as good as I had hoped but it's okay. Driving in sport mode is pretty peppy and fun once in a while. It's a little sluggish in econ mode but I don't get much difference in mileage between that and normal mode. Normal mode is fine for most driving conditions - enough acceleration for all driving requirements. I bought it for the mileage factor and at 40+ MPG and thought it would be fun to drive and I was right. On the highway, I get about 43 MPG at 65, 41 at 70 and about 40 at 75. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the car....read morehide

- Pros
- A Blast to Drive, Better than Expected Fuel Economy
- Cons
- Wiping the droll off of it from SUV Drivers at the Gas Station
Purchased As New
4500 Miles - Average fuel economy in City/Highway Commuting 45.1 MPG - on regular fuel
A blast to drive.
I drove the TDI Gulf, The Mini Cooper and the Cooper-S. Bought the CRZ. No regrets. Check the Consumer Reports Web Site - very, very similiar performance results - and its a Honda.
The Mini dealer had to jump the demo because the battery was dead. The Gulf is fun, but uncomfortable for short people to drive.
The Honda is - a Honda. Controls are where they belong. Its well behaved. Only complaints are the wimpy horn and the lack of a lumbar adjustment. A leather option would be a good addition....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- decent fuel economy, sharp styling, better image than a prius
- Cons
- fuel economy is not quite good enough, typical cheap honda interior, it's not actually fast

it's fuel economy is pretty good, but not that great compared to other hybrids. it's a slow car too. it's supposed to be a compromise between performance and efficiency - it fails to deliver both in sufficient amounts. it does look good though.

- Cons
- Rear visibility could be better

Traded my gas hog SUV in for this. Previous owner was a bit leary of FWD because their driveway was very steep and icy in the winter. Their loss is my gain! Went to the Honda dealership to drive a Civic (because of gas mileage) took one for a ride and thought it was nice, nothing to write home to mom about but it was a nice car. Got out of the civic and was walking inside to see what they could do for me and spotted a CRZ on the lot. Didn't know much about them but I was instantly interested. It was a manual shift which I didn't care for but I liked the looks of it. The Honda dealership wasn't real interested in making me a deal for a CRZ or a civic so I left. I had been online at another dealership and saw they had a CRZ for sale. Went for a ride, loved the car and bought it. I am not a young guy (59) but I really felt young again driving the CRZ. It's not a race car by any means but it is responsive, fun to drive and has a lot of cool gadgets (bluetooth, nav, etc). I have really grown to love this car, especially when I can get 39 mpg. The negative reviews that I saw were mainly people who don't own one. Give it a chance. It'll grow on you....read morehide
