- versatility, cargo room, reliability, resale value
- mileage could be better for a 4cyl
I was wary of the toaster-like shape, but it grows on you. We had a 2006 EX-P that we absolutely loved, but someone thought it a good idea to hit me head-on. - Comfortable and versitile
- Tacs a little high in 5th at hwy speeds
I felt obliged to write this review after reading the previous ones. I think they were written by a Chevy dealer, not by actual owners. Is this car perfect, no. No car is. Is it a well built, reliable machine, yes. I have owned two previous Hondas, an Accura Legend and a Honda Accord. Both were extremely well built and had few reliability issues. So far I have found the Element to be the same. A very solidly built car (slam the doors, what a solid thunk!), and according to Consumer Reports it is even more reliable than the Accord! If you want an unbiased review of the car see their review. I really like the huge interior space, and find the car one of the most comfortable cars on a trip I have owned. My only gripe is the manual transmission is geared toward performance so 5th gear tacs high, 3400 rpm at 70mph, which brings down the gas mileage a bit, but for a vehicle of this size and with AWD 25mph is ok. Better than my Subaru Outback anyway....read morehide

Brought it to the dealer to check and was told the engine had to be repaired, but was not covered under warranty. This will be my last Honda and wasn't happy with the mileage it got either....read morehide
