2007 Honda Element User Reviews
LX 2WD 5-Spd AT shown
- $9,514 - $12,709
- No trim specified for this review
- Lots of leg room for front and back passengers, good power, killer sound system
- Road noise was so great my ears would ring after 2 hr trip (radio off), marginal gas economy..19-20
I liked the many flexible features of this little giant. The exterior look reminded me of Odd-Job from the James Bond movies because of the flaired roof profile at top kind of matched his head! Seats were sort of like sitting in lawn chairs, although they had lots of room and the rear could be flipped out of way for larger loads. The biggest disappointment was the fuel economy and road noise. It handled well, had good power, somewhat impaired side visibilty causing larger than normal blind spot. Motor and body otherwise was typical good Honda quality. My sense was that car would last a lot longer than I could take it given the wind racket only matched by a motorcycle trip down the freeway.
I had sold my crew cab Silverado pick up in hope of a better fuel savings with the Honda but returned to a new one for the comfort and the fact that it was only going to cost me a few miles per gallon more. Not worth the short commings in the Honda to give up what the Chevy had. (I am getting 19 mpg in my new Chevy).
