2008 Honda Element User Reviews
LX 2WD 5-Spd MT shown

- Roomy, handles well for a box, value, safety, cargo capacity, matches my toaster
- Poor or no lighted controls,no passenger lock button, clamshell door trap when exiting w/passenger
Have owned for 2 months and 5kmi and I really like this rig. Handles well but ride is a little bumpy, some might say tight or sports tuned.
Lots of room and a commanding view of the road although some blind spots, be careful...spot mirrors a must.
The lack of lighted controls on the steering wheel and the dim control lighting needs improvement but I am learning to live with it.
Hate the lack of a passenger lock control button, why, Honda why?
Clamshell doors work excellent as a mantrap when exiting in diagonal parking so if you intend to have lots of back seat passengers get a RAV4. Other than those negatives this is a great rig....read morehide

- handling, comfort, gas mileage...EVERYTHING!
- I honestly cannot think of one thing.
I LOVE MY HONDA ELEMENT! It is absolutely the perfect car for my family. We have a one year old and a very hairy dog, so the interior is the best thing since sliced bread...seriously. If there's a spill...just wipe it out. No stains, nothing. All seats flip and fold...remove. Great for diaper changing and dog lounging:) It's really a comfy ride as well! Very roomy!! Don't be mistaken, this is no luxury vehicle...definitely utilitarian through and through. If that's what you're looking for then this is the car for you!...read morehide

- Roomy interior, nice handling vehicle, great view of road!
- Gas mileage
Two thousand miles into owning this vehicle, I am sincerely digging my new ride. I bought the Honda Element after my 1998 Honda Civic was decimated by a semi-truck, so I was sort of "forced" into a new car purchase before I was ready to do so since I could have easily gotten another 150K out of my Civic. After watching my life flash before my eyes, another Civic was out of the question--too small. I wasn't keen on the looks of the CRV, so I test drove the Accord and the Element. While the Accord was a sweet ride, the utilitarian usefulness of the Element was more suited for my needs. I love the fact that the rear seats can be removed--perfect for a garage sale fantatic! Having a commanding view of the road and being high off the ground is also a nice change. I don't feel "bullied" on the roadways like I did in my low-slung Civic. The only thing I can really complain about with the Element is the gas mileage, but I suppose I'm spoiled after getting 41mpg. Having said that, I can still drive back and forth from work for two weeks on one tank of gas. Supposedly the Element has a 15.9 gallon tank, but all of my fillups have been in the 11-12 gallon range. I've been told that once the gas light comes on, you still have 4-5 gallons of fuel available, and the Element can easily run to 400 miles/ tank. I'm still breaking mine in and don't drive any faster than 60mph. I can get about 300 miles before my gas light comes on. I usually fill up at the 350 mark--just to be on the safe side. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my Element, and hope to own this one for 10 years before I buy yet another Honda. Great car!...read morehide

- Most interior room of any vehicle in it's class. Tons of cargo space
- Seats four, not a big deal if you don't have a family.
This is not a cheap China car like the competition would like you to believe. Very nice fit and finish. Decent gas milage almost 28 MPG on highway. When we first started looking at cars I never would have dreamed that we would buy a toaster looking car like this. The dealer told us to take it home for the weekend and see what we thought after driving it for a couple of days. Drives like you would expect from a honda....read morehide
